More crapness from the folks who are supposed to represent us in the government. The Delhi government decides to put another cess on people owning Diesel vehicles. Apparently, they would now have to pay a bit more for the fuel in their cars.
The only relevant information I could find in papers was that the government expects to generate around Rs. 48 crores from this new cess.
Nothing is mentioned on what they would do with this ‘extra’ money they would get from ‘yet’ another meaningless cess on the common man. How would this money help in conserving the nature?
Would charging more for the fuel result in people not buying diesel cars any more? From what I see diesel cars today are much cleaner and efficient. And if they conform to the standards set by the government itself, it should be illegal for the government to implement this new cess.
