Challans for crossing the roads?

I do not mind the Delhi government fining people who cross the roads at wrong locations. But the problem is that they do not do what they should be doing in the first place.

Ensure that:

1. We have good roads.
2. Traffic management should be done to prevent road congestion.
3. Zebra Crossing should be visible and present at all the relevant locations.
4. Provide Public Loos throughout the city and not just around Connaught Place. And do not close them at like 8-9 PM.
5. Cops do not let go of the people driving VIP cars. I have personally seen them not fining cars with single/double digit numbers after the driver comes to the cop and says something in his ear.
6. Mark all roads. Put signs at all the relevant places to tell which way to take to reach what place. It becomes frustrating at times when you cannot find signs to even the major destinations in Delhi.

One example is around the India Gate circle. The sign for the Shah Jahan Road is placed at such a bad location that no one can see it in time to take the turn.

I can mention thousands of more things which the government is not doing to make life a bit more pleasant for the commuter on Delhi Roads.

But what we see are these random actions by the Delhi Police. You just cannot be sure what is in store for you anytime you are on Delhi Roads.

And close all the Free Left Turns where ever there is no footover bridge or a pedestrians subway. Even the Delhi Traffic Police’s website says that pedestrians and bicyclists have first right of way on the roads!!
