Apple iPod vs. Microsoft Zune

I updated the Zune I have to the latest firmware and the new user interface was a nice change. The software application is now more simplified though I am not a big fan of the Pink color.

It took me a while to understand Zune 2 software but in the end it all worked fine. They could have made it simpler but knowing Microsoft it was too much to ask.

Microsoft Zune Firmware Update

I still could not benefit from the improved file format support as it failed to recognize all the media files I threw at it…

Looks like I would have to continue using a third party application to convert the videos to a Zune compatible format. Creative Zen Vision does a much better job.

You still cannot use the Zune as a pen drive so that is a big disappointment too.

I also get a chance to see the new iPod nano and I found it to be a bit TOO small for my taste. This was incidentally the first time I personally got to use an iPod (other than the iPod Shuffle) and I did not like it much…

Using Zune 2 was much more fun compared to Apple iTunes…
