Saravanaa Bhavan

Food is pretty good. Prices? I had say a bit on the higher side considering the food quantity is less compared to competing restaurants like Sagar Ratna.

Two sadness points?

They charge extra for Sambhar.

And here is something pretty amazing…

If you ask for a glass of juice WITHOUT ICE, they would charge Rs. 5 extra!

All that is justified considering it’s location and the kinda cleanliness and quality of food they have to offer. I have not had better South Indian food anywhere in Delhi.

well i would say. charge as much as u can. but give me a wholesome meal… something that makes me full without ordering a repeat.

and please dont ask me to pay pity amounts for refills of sambhar.

do they really ask for extra money for sambhar??
that was not at all expected from Sarvanaa Bhawan.
The branch they opened in Karol Bagh was pretty good and I dont think they asked for extra money. Pity they had to shut it down due to sealing, losses and an expired lease of Rs.3cr. They even had Gujarati, Rajasthani and Rs.100-for-all-you-can-eat-sections

we did not ask for it but it was mentioned on the menu. i did ask for the juice without ice :D

You live in Bangalore and want to eat in Saravana Bhavan. What a bloody joke, man.
Bangalore has far better eateries than the overpriced and overhyped SBs. Get out of the koramangala, MG Road circuit and visit a decent “darshini” in South Bangalore. You will your “south indian” eating nirvana.
