Om Shanti Om

Ok. I must confess that I am not a Shah Rukh Khan fan. And I think the movie was crap.

But I would add that I enjoyed some parts in the movie. Parts which had SRK mimicking the famous actors of the yesteryears.

Perhaps because I see SRK as more of a mimicker than a full blown actor. And since this movie had him portraying two characters who were required to be mimicked… He somewhat excelled at this job.

The movie also feels like a satire on the entire Bollywood industry. It’s past and present. The funny thing is that it ended up being a satire on Bollywood by the entire (well almost) Bollywood itself.

It should offend a lot of people who have been part of this industry but it won’t because of all the third party support it got by the people who were actually being mocked inside the movie.

In the end you feel like you paid for the movie ticket to see a family celebration which had no desire to produce a genuine product. But considering we people accept crap from them, this one is likely to triumph the Bhansali product easily.
