Airtel customer support on 1999 UL plan
I have been getting packet drops on Google. And I have been getting less than expected speeds on downloads.
So, I called up Airtel customer care and they sent a representative.
His solutions for my problem…
Airtel plans have 1:2 sharing ratio so the best speed they guarantee is 256kbps on this 512kbps package.
So, technically I am paying 2000 bucks plus taxes for a package that would give me guaranteed speeds of 32 kBps.
On the breaking ping issue. As I had expected, they had no solution for me on this. He tried doing some random stuff. Which as I knew was not going to change anything for the quality of service I get.

Did u try that Airtel’s NetExpert ? It helped me a lot in other cases. I am getting 33-40 kilo Bytes per sec on a 999 256 KBPS plan …
I am located at Hyderabad.

Seems to me that only business plans are good for a decent Internet connection from private ISPs.

We had paid a sum of Rupees 2500.00 vide there valid Hollow mark (2985426) receipt no. CA/REC No. 330660 SEF No. 787210 on dated 12 oct 2007 to Mr. Jitender for the booking of new internet connection in our office 112, First Floor Ansal Majistic Tower, Vikas Puri New Delhi. When they refuse for connection we say them for gave us back the advance amount. On the First week of November we receive a letter with a cheque of Rs. 500.00 bearer no. 023586 dated 30th oct 2007 of Deutsche Bank New Delhi with bank reference no. COO/B79607036053/247 NDCSD/ND02/343421.
After that we had so many complaint to Mr. Sachin, Mr. Manoj, Mr. Sharad, Mr. Surender Moor (9818414222), Mr. Raju Vigbhash (09910937459), but they carry forward day by day the complaint.
Complaint no. 2617768 dated 10 dec 2007, 3089536 dated 8 Jan 2008, 12187412 dated 22 Jan 2008, 3631898 dated 7 Feb 2008.
Please help us.
