Dell disappoints me
One call center dude told me that a warranty worth three years or more is indeed internationally valid. The Dell India dude tells me that the warranty I purchased is not valid globally. And I would have to purchase a new one for India!
Why did I purchase a three year long warranty in the US then?
Interestingly, Dell US Support Forum seems to be full of customers like me who were told similar stuff about the international applicability of the warranty they are purchasing but were denied support outside USA later on!

what about that claim about the lcd replacement if there are 5 dead pixels in the corners or 3 in the middle? im thinking about buying a dell lcd, am worried about the actual warranty handling here
otherwise i might get a samsung instead…

I’ve faced a similar situation with my Sony HandyCam….busted money for global warranty…but the intelligent dudes here refused to accept it.
