i see that in this Blog, the common thing is that every user posted a comment has purchased a WII either from USA/canada or Dubai.
here is a few issues which you face.
Q: I purchased my Wii from United States (USA) and when I used my adapter, I had a noise coming from my adapter and my Wii doesn’t turns ON. What went wrong????
A: Congratulations for your new Wii….and don’t worry everything is fine with your Wii, it’s just that the adapter came with your Wii is not supported in India due to voltage differences.
Q: The Wii adapter which I purchased from you is made in China.
A: Common, grow up,.90% of consumer electronic goods in made in chine,even my apple iphone 4 is made in china.. I do believe, even your Nintendo is made in china.
The Adapter which you need for your Wii to work in India is 230V.
So this adapter will work great for your Wii purchased from United States (USA).
i would highly not recommend to use local adapter,you not only waste money, they do harm your wii as well some times
due to voltage fluctuations in india, the local one's may not supply the correct amout of voltage to nintendo wii and thus harming it.

no, it will not work in india.
for that wii to work in india, you would need to buy a indian original adapter for wii.
this is because of voltage differences in US and india.
what you can do is you can buy a orginal adapter in india.
i have posted a link , you can contact the seller and query with him.
i bought a wii from dubai and a game from dubai only.. but there is a problem the discs donot read at all....
its because of ntsc/pal region, i do believe you need to modify it, so that, you can play all the discs.

Hi , I bought WII from US, before leaving from US I didn't check whether it was working or not. I have plugged in properly as they mensioned in manual. The Power is not coming to the WII game. I didnt use any power converter. I am using normal 3way plug which fits US plugs. COuld you please suggest me on this? I want to play Wii game in India.

Hi I live in India. I bought Wii from U.S and plugged the Wii Adapter directly in the wall outlet of India without connecting the converter. And now it is burned. I tried connecting to another adapter which was rated as 100-240V. The power was on for a few secs however after it was not switching on. Q-1 Now what should I do ? Q-2 Can it be repaired ?

I have bought US WII 1 week back from US and have also bought the converter 220V - 110V from Walmart. But the converter says "Do not use with power tools or electronic circuitry(i.e. computers, fax machines, TV, VCR, Sterios, Battery rechargers etc.)"
Converter can be used with Curling irons, Shavers, Clothes steamers, Hair Dryers..
Shall i go ahead and use this converter with my Nintendo WII or i should buy an adaptor from india which works on 110V-240V Power supply.

most of my customers have tried using the convertor but sometime it works and sometime it doesnt.
i think you should go ahead with a new adapter.do understand it is bit costly but try using convertor first

Look for the power rating on the Wii console or its box and also compare that with the rating of the convertor. If the convertor is rated the same or higher go ahead and plug it in.

I purchased a converter to convert 220v to 120v for US Wii console. however the output was 160v instead of 110v and it bust my US Wii adapter. Now these people are telling me to buy Europe based adapter instead of any converter.
Please let me know if europe adapter will works with US Wii. or should I buy a right converter.

You get the non modded Wiis only in selected stores and there too the cost is about 18000 INR. I'm sure they would be cheaper in the US.
The modded ones are cheaper of course and you can pick them up off ebay.in. Most of the suppliers on eBay are from Delhi/Punjab and you shoudl be able to get it easy.
Oh btw please note that the Canadian system is the same as the US (I believe) which is NTSC while India is the same as Europe (PAL) Since the Wiis are region coded, an American Wii will not work with an Indian television.

The 3 months warranty is not offered by JJ Mehta but by Nintendo itself. Nintendo should increase the warranty limit

Like a few others, I accidentally plugged my USA Wii system (120v) directly into the Indian socket (220V). I probably blew the fuse in the adaptor. I know that I can buy a new one for about Rs. 1200. But this is a very simple issue, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with replacing the adaptor fuse.

I recently moved back from the US. I plugged-in my Wii console. It works perfectly for about 2-5 minutes and then shuts off. Restarting it after some time again works for 2-5 minutes and then shuts off. I am using a 220v-110v converter with sufficient wattage. I am also using a PAL TV from the US. What could be wrong? Can any one help?
FYI, I am in Bangalore. Any repair shops in Bangalore?
