MouthShut Shuts Their Member’s Mouths!!!



We have this new member on the India Broadband Forum who claims that the consumer experience website MouthShut has been deleting his postings related to Tata Indicom Broadband.

    The unfolding story on MouthShut.com, coupled with the fraud at VSNL/ TATA-indicom can only amaze one!

    I posted 2 reviews on MouthShut.com, both pertained to the above ISP – VSNL/ TATA-indicom. The 2 reviews were under completely different headings (MouthShut does not consolidate their data, hence their problem!), the headings/ sections were:
    1. TATA Indicom
    2. TATA Indicom ADSL Broadband

    MouthShut kept deleting my above 2 reviews. This happened all of 7 times. Well, I kept reinstating my reviews again and again, eventually under a new user name: “AConsumerVoice”.

    Currently, they have blocked me out completely but, as it seems, my story is still up there [for the moment]. Doing so, they even manipulated my text amd constantly took other commentators off, i.e. deleted their comments completely. Many other members noticed this, not just me. We now have proof about what they did.

    The BIG question is:
    Are they — MouthShut — being bribed or they being put under tremendous pressure by VSNL/ TATA-indicom, maybe even through Vaishnavi Corporate Communications Pvt. Ltd. (see => http://www.vccpl.com), their advisors? All this just to take off what I had written??

    Whatever VSNL/ TATA-indicom does (directly or indirectly), they will not be able to stop a CNN-IBN TV report very soon. A new programme “At Your Service” is now to be aired early October 2007, as I just heard from CNN-IBN. I will keep you all posted about the exact airing time.

But I have a conviction that no one cannot silence consmer’s voice but Indian consumers need some bravehearts like you to get courage and encouragement to stand up against unscrupulous companies.

    I think you also wrote your review in Admanya and although we are very small but I can assure you one thing that we are committed to free speech and will always support consumers to voice their concern and share their experiences. The content of Admanya is solely created by its users and we know very clearly that we don’t have any right to suppress, modify or delete your content without your express permission.

    I think your case has already created ripples in the online community far and wide and soon I anticipate waves will hit the conscience of every consumer in this country.

Maybe since we assume fairness and our freedom to be a fact of life, whereas there seems to be an underlying unseen force which points to the contrary – our limited freedom and kind of pawns we seem to be in a much larger power play. It is like living in a glass bubble.

    Looking often for more information on TATA Indicom (I too have issues with the ISP), I happened to catch MouthShut’s outright lie. What their ‘Head – Member Support’ (Ms. Jasmine Ahuja) stated in her eMail to me was shocking and revealing, all at once. I cannot trust their website anymore, simply because they did what they did. Fact is that prior to your TATA indicom deletions many times over, I had also noticed that they had removed other members’ negative comments on the MS critique you had written after they did what they did to you. The comments made by an ‘anitha654’ were polite but critical, just the way a review/ comment on a public website should be. All this clearly suggests a scam.

    Keep at them Mr. Lal because they deserve to be humbled and their antics need to be publicized for all to see. Let the members that are supposed to rely on what they see/read there and the clients/partners of MS that trust the data (analysed data used for market research by consumer goods manufacturers, etc.) given to them all know what this is about.

    I have experienced the same with Tata VSNL broadband in Chennai.
    I have more other experiences, i tried a lot to record, write, save mail, and talk out the customer service executive; but all went in vain. All was leading to nowhere.

    I went to complaint the same to their head office in Chennai, had to wait for almost 1 hour to meet some dickhead, and get nothing constructive out of it.

    I was not able to do proper business and I had once run all over Chennai roads to find a cyber cafe in the middle of the night at 3AM to submit a project in time, else would loose 1000s of dollars and a big project, thanks to the great service of Tata Indicom VSNL broadband internet connection.[they claim 0% downtime!]

    Calling the customer support is a nightmare:

    1. They do not have a toll-free customer care number.
    2. Moreover the calls are STD calls taht landup in Hyderabad.
    3. The people in Hyderabad do not understand the local locations and do not know addresses or names that we pronounce. Hence so many practical problems.
    4. CC executives want to greet and put the phone down, they do not try to understand our problem, they abruptly cut my call during conversation.

    Overall it was a nightmare to be a customer with Tata Indicom broadband. I had prepaid for 6 months, so I could not do anything else other than watch them take me for a ride and puncture my feelings and day today activities!

    I would do anything to wage the war up against their ass, and bring justice to fellows who have the same problem, we all have opted for Tata Indicom only on the basis that they are the monopoly provider in our area. All the best and all the good luck to Lal.

    PS: Mouthshut is run by an assh0le and i knew they are like this from day1, and hence took my review and content off from their site in a couple of days. They were making fake profiles and writing fake comments on my review, and that made me realize that the site is a waste of time.

    Instead of deleting comments, they should have spent the same time and effort in fixing your problems. A happy customer will tell ten others about a good gesture. Turning an irate customer into a happy one is the biggest advertisement any company can get!
