Loins of Punjab Presents
This movie is actually pretty awesome. Turned out to be a shocking surprise as Bheja Fry did earlier this year.
In fact, I would recommend all readers of this post to go and see this movie. It’s something I had call a good comedy film. Not the crap we see from our own regular Bollywood directors.
Everyone does a good job in the film. Absolutely everyone! In fact the director of the movie Manish Acharya plays one of the most lovable characters in the film itself.
Shabana AZMI as Mrs. Rrita Kapoor is as cunning as she could be. Great performance from perhaps the most recognizable face in the movie.
Ajay NAIDU as Turbanotorious BDG is hilarious. I am not sure which all movies I have seen him… but he does well in this one!
Ayesha DHARKER as Opama Menon… Ok. She has in fact starred in ‘Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones’ and several other good projects. She does not disappoint.
Seema RAHMANI as Sania Rahman: No idea if I have seen her earlier in any kind of media project but she acts well in this one.
Jameel KHAN as Bokade: Excellent performance. I have surely seen him before.
Darshan JARIWALA as Sanjeev Patel: Nothing extraordinary here. Entire family performs well.
Ishitta SHARMA as Preeti Patel: She got a meaty role in the movie. Does a fine job.
Manish ACHARYA as Vikram Tejwani: I realized that he was the director of the movie when I saw the end credits. His performance and direction… awesome.
Michael RAIMONDI as Josh Cohen: Surprise package. Brilliant performance. The end performance was like mind blowing.
I had say watch this movie for this gora guy stuck in a desi crowd.
By the way, here is something interesting I noticed. PVR Cinemas seems to be treating this movie as Lions of Punjab Presents. I saw this spelling on their digital board. And it was like that on the movie ticket too!
I tried talking to some dudes in the theater to get them to fix this problem. No one seemed interested. Totally expected.
