iPhone lover, I recently moved from Vodafone to Airtel and though it was a nightmare getting GPRS activated, it works like a charm on the iPhone. just put in airtelgprs.com as your APN. Check out the blog for screenshots and more details. Just make sure you call airtel and tell them to activate Mobile Office/GPRS. If they ask what phone you're using, don't tell them it's the iPhone because they don't officially support it ... yet!

Activating EDGE (not GPRS) requires sending an SMS im not sure what, ask Vodafone Customer Care (call 111). It takes Rs. 199 per month and I'm not sure if it is available all over India. Then go to iPhone's Settings>General>Network>EDGE, then type 'www' in APN and leave username and password blank. You're done!

If you did not select India in the International settings [hone will crash repeatedly with incoming messages and phone calls,

Slect India in the international options and reset network settings and boot the phone by holding power swith for 3-5 seconds and then turning of the phone and then swith on let me know if this works. If you guys are using old I world stuff please un installs. Also install BSD subsystems and let me know if this worked.

Iunlocked the iphone using the ZIPHONE software,But after unloking I am facing some problems.The Iphone is not ringing /vibrating when there is a incoming call.The caller can listen the Calling tune (TRING TRING),but there is no response from iphone.I can see a loading LOGO appering in iphone when incoming call is going on,and that time i cant oparate any application of iphone.Seems the iphone gets hanged that time.After the call is over the iphone again comes back to its normal position.
can anyone suggest
