Tata Indicom Misfortune
The company has enough resources to become one of the leaders in the mobile service market in India.
However, they are suffering from the same flaws other Tata companies suffer from.
Take for example our experience dealing with the Tata Indicom guys in the recent days.
The main Tata Indicom center in Gurgaon is located in Sahara Mall. You have to struggle through all the traffic to find parking in the mall.
You pay hefty parking fees to just get inside the mall…
The people working at that Tata Indicom center have been pretty much useless to me. I have been there several times to get minor problems fixed.
Our good luck that we found a better alternative in the form of their store located in the Galleria mall…
Two real helpful guys who manages to get the work done fast. Provided their computer system allows them to do the needful.
But, things have not been easy for them too. Last time we went there, we noticed that around 12-15 guys entered that small shop.
Turned out they were marketing people from the company. The store had us and another customer waiting to get their problems solved. The guy on the counter was busy helping us.
But the marketing people totally ignored us, the two customers standing there and made a mess of the surrounding. They kept on discussing smaller issues like wrong placement of banners and things like that.
They also kept on discussing other irrelevant stuff amongst themselves while making it hard for the dude on the counter to serve us, the end customer.
During that messy period, we noticed that as many as 4 other Tata Indicom customers (or probable customers) entered the shop but looking at all that mess, went back.
Overall, it became a frustrating experience just looking at those marketing people who totally ignored us who are their targeted audience…
Looks like they are more worried on ‘attracting’ new customers rather than keeping the existing ones with them.

I had an Indicom and it sucked big time. After the Singuri incident I had boycotted TATA. The least I can do against the murder and horrible Human rights violations.
But after reading this

I am not only going to stop using tata altogether but also try and start a movement to see that this Inhuman company is stopped(which seems like a herculan task but it is possible as we the consumers decide)

Hi,
I was using Tata Indicom from Last 1 year due to one reason that the incoming on roaming was absolutely free.But i discontinue the services in may, 2007 beacuse one gud day i got an sms frm 121 that my o/s bill is Rs.7500.00. I called CC & the reply was tat they had withdrawn the roaming incoming services & now I’ve to pay that huge amount.
