KDE vs. Gnome

I started my current Linux (Ubuntu) experience with Gnome as my default windows/desktop manager. I got used to it.

I tried working on KDE for a couple of days and found it to be frustrating. Maybe because my KDE installation was a bit buggy and things just did not work the way I wanted them to work.

Overall, I am currently sticking with Gnome… KDE 4 might change that. ;)

Gnome is better, in terms of usability… Then again, there would KDE Die-Hard fan support… Sigh

I also recently switched to Ubuntu and was pleasantly surprised with it. Previously using Kubuntu and before that openSuse.

I’m waiting for the next round of releases of Ubuntu and openSuse in October. I understand openSuse will also start releasing a single-CD installation, so I will try KDE again then. Hope KDE4 is released by then.

So by the end of the year I should have picked either Ubuntu or openSuse(KDE) as my favourite distro!
