India’s first woman President?

I just noticed that we now have a woman President…

Now usually I would have been pretty impressed by this feat we have managed. Even the USA has never had a woman President.

But looking at all the drama that took place before the selection of the current President of India… I am pretty much disappointed to say the least.

Why can’t we have a non political President of the nation?

A congresswoman is now the President of India. I guess it would now make it easier for the government to pass on more stupid laws.

well.. india is going towards its worst.. as directed by the gandhi family.
now, the prime ministerial as well as presidential powers are in the hands of women..
Its not about why women can`t.. but equivalent is the question.. why men can`t?
We do not have a single competent man to be president? yes.. we don`t have men now these days.. see our PM..
such a shame for the country.
We don`t have a man with guts n power n a lion heart n fox mind to come n get india on right path.
unfortunately... slow motion and junk people like narsimha, devegora, vaajpayi, manmohan singh have ruled india..
pitiful to have taken a birth in such a impotent country.
when i have to fill my nationality in any form, i would write.. "Unfortunately Indian"
Anyways, thats how it is n thats how it will remain.

No matter who the president is..its always easy for parliament to pass any law the party wants bcz real is PM..president is just an official constitutional puppet(That doesnt mean he/she is nothing).A bill passed can be rejected once by president but if that is again sent(and they surely will if rejected-But president generally never rejects)he has to sign it compulsarily.
