Delhi Cops are amusing
While I am not sure how good they are at the work they are supposed to do. But they sure are amusing.
Earlier this week, I was taking mom to nana’s place. I took a wrong turn by mistake and found myself driving around in Anand Vihar region.
I passed on a police station and continued the journey trying to find a way out to get back on the main road.
I ended up landing in front of the police station once again and was stopped by a cop.
He looked at me and inside the car and asked where was I going. I told him the needful.
Of course by this time, mom was quite worried about what was going on…
He asked me my name, my address and my cell number. He then called on my mobile number to confirm whether I gave him the correct one.
He then asked me where his ’sir’ was. I had no idea what he was asking about. He told me that a PCR Van was sent to follow me and his sir was in it.
Whoa. That was the moment I got a little worried. I replied that I had no idea that a police car was ‘chasing me’…
A few minutes later the PCR Van in question arrived with the senior cop inside it looking quite pissed off.
He asked the dude standing besides me about the situation. The cop replied that I was with my mother and was going to my nana’s place. And I ended up in that region after taking a wrong turn.
Thank goodness.
The senior cop asked me if I had found the correct way to my final destination and later on explained the correct route himself.
I asked him what the confusion was and why I was being chased by a damn PCR Van!
The dudes told me that since my car had an outside number (My car is registered in Haryana with a HR number), and I was roaming around aimlessly in their region, they had gotten suspicious. Apparently, they thought that I was part of a car stealer’s network trying to find a vehicle in their area to burgle!
Made my day!

Amusing yes, but also impressive that the cops are a little alert out there

Continuing Vishal’s comment, its quite amazing that the cops are SO alert in your area, chasing the wrong person. They’d probably salute the real thief and later take a cut from him.
Bloody police wallahs.
