Airtel Broadband does hate Linux users

It is now confirmed that some Ubuntu domains are still not working on Airtel Broadband in at least some sectors in Gurgaon.

I got to interact with their customer care people today. Instead of coming to my place, he got me to install some ActiveX shit on my machine and tried to check the problem remotely.

I gave him enough proof that the sites I mentioned are indeed not working on Airtel. He had no definite answer for me.

Not sure if they are going to do anything on this issue at their end.

Also, about that ActiveX component thing… I am not sure how they they are going to support Linux users. Or for that matter Mac users.

Their ads would show people working on a Mac (coz it looks good) but when it comes to support… You would practically be stranded if you are not using the ‘popular’ Windows platform.

    Spot on!!
I am struggling for the past one month to get internet connection for my Macbook. The Zyxel modem provided to me for my Windoze connection does not work with Mac and they are forcing me to buy a new modem which is substandard.
