It would be nice if you could drop the batteries out and mess with the cam on your computer while you are charging the batteries. I find it painful to know that I am wasting time I could waste on something else like writing on my hand.

Coz that will fry the mainboard.

Camera like this need heavy duty batteries, and USB does not have enough power to charge them. My Fuji S9100 has 4 cell of 2700 Mah each cherging two of them will kill USB.
