FTP client software on Ubuntu Linux

Similar to my problem hunting for a good download manager… I am yet to find a decent FTP client software on Ubuntu. I want something similar to SmartFTP. I have tried using Filezilla on Ubuntu and it is pathetic when compared to the version on the Windows platform. gFTP also does not feel right…

Have you tried the very stable and useful ones: CrossFTP ( http://www.crossftp.com/ ) and KFTPGrabber (for KDE)?

hmm…interesting…I switched completely to linux about a year back and for the first 2 months even I was looking for a decent SmartFTP like client on linux…I found gFTP pretty good…it supports everything what SmartFTP does….and about the eye candy works…its just got the industrial looks…..kFTPgrabber is good….but it did not suit my TASTE (eye candy works).

    I didn’t like gFTP.

I Just installed konqueror with “apt-get install konqueror”

You can just type ftp://site.url in the address line.

    Good enough for me.
