Starting applications at boot in Ubuntu

Ubuntu lacks a startup application folder which enables you to add an application link which would start up automatically on login. Instead you can run this command to add your preferred applications:

gnome-session-properties

It is also available from System > Preferences > Sessions (It is on mine!).

don’t think it would work on kde but the application could probably be installed manually if it does not exist…

    A simple mistake,
the title says “Starting application at boot”, and you are providing info regarding adding application to start on login (session).
Both are totally different things mistaken to be same.

    Please correct the title.
    Thanks.

You can save your sessions in KDE through the control center -> KDE components -> Session Manager
