Power cuts in Gurgaon

They call Gurgaon the Singapore of India. And here is a news item which describes the kind of power situation we have in this city.

Highlights:

A spokesman of the DHBVN said here today that the duration of power cuts in urban areas will not exceed 90 minutes at one go.

In rural areas, the DHBVN has scheduled power supply for at least 13 hours a day, including a three-phase supply for five hours a day.

Power Situation Worsens. Yesterday (15.7.2007) there was a small torrential storm and the power went poof!!!

Firstly, the phone complaint nos are never/seldom picked up and when you get through the toll free no: 1912, a person picks up the phone and says “Today we are closed!!”

I went to the complaint centre at 3 p.m and registered complaint (No.- 87), again followed up by going there at 7p.m., the person spoke to the JE and said it will be restored in an hour. After that JEs (Amit Gupta) no. was switched off! Went to the substation in Sector 15 but surprisingly NO One was there except for a stray dog for guard!! Tried calling SDO even his phone no was switched off!!

It is 16.7.2007, 10.10 a.m. now…the power is yet to be restored!!

Such apathy and service is provided by the DHBVN which quotes among the highest bill rates among all the Bijli Boards across India.

Centralised complaint phone is always put down. Consequently, no one can complaint on phone. There is no power in 1266, Sector 17-C, Gurgaon since last night and the phone of complaint remained engaged. The complainant launched to the lineman, but he did not do anything. Please take urgent action and do the needful.
