Bajaj makes it tough to enjoy Pulsar 200

An update to the experience dealing with the Bajaj Dealer in Gurgaon (Krishna Auto Sales) with regards to the Pulsar 200 my friend acquired.

The dealer no longer has the bike in stock. Looks like the demand is greater than the supplies. Very good for Bajaj.

The problem? The dealer does not even have the spare parts to fix the problems faced by the owners of the few bikes which have been sold in the market.

The bike has developed an issue with some component called cooler (or whatever). Bajaj guys admit it and say it needs to be replaced.

But since they do not have the required spare parts (since the last 20-25 days) they cannot fix it. They say they would have the spares required in the next 10-15 days.

The problem is that he said the same thing 15 days ago. And they still do not have the required spare parts. And he admits that he already has 4-5 more similar cases where the Pulsar 200 has developed leaking problems.

He recommends that we should get the part welded and he would replace the part when it arrives at the dealership.

When we asked him to give it in writing that he WOULD indeed replace the problematic part when a spare arrives at their workshop, he had this to say:

I don’t have any issues in giving you in writing. But what if I refuse to do the needful in the future? What would you do? It does not make any difference at all.

The funny story is that another Bajaj workshop dude practically told my friend that he should NOT go in for the welding solution as it would surely void his warranty and no Bajaj dealer would touch the bike.

I have tried writing to the company but have not received any response yet. I am giving it 10 more days. If the Krishna guys do not get the required spare parts… I would have no option but to go to the customer court.

Here is a suggestion to anyone who is considering buying the Pulsar 200.

Wait. Wait till your local dealership has spares in stock.

For us, it means that we have to wait for at least 2 weeks to take the bike on long trips.

Then why don't you opt for those stupid electric scooters rather than a cycle. And if you want to have a bullet then just pound yourself on that weighty shit and roam in the city lanes, throttling insanely and farting like hell. I have a respect for the enfields, but don't know why the company is not launching any high end segment, like Harley does. They are using the same old engine, technology and styling. Wheras bajaj, being one of the oldest manufacturer, had renovated itself time to time. I remember the day when Bajaj launched its first bike "Caliber" that was a big hit. And from then it had launched the india's first fastest bike. It boasts of its own developed technology and design. And today, India's largest bike manufacturer.

Don't speak like you are drunken or like you lost your mind.

FOR ALL PULSAR 200 OWNERS:

Recently I got the highest speed of 130kmph on my P200. Its now 1.5 yeas old and still giving an excellent mileage of 52-55 kmpl.

all bikes are bakwas, buy FIREFOX cycles and enjoy, also keeps you healthy and is the in thing these days.ANd you HIJRA's real male bike is ENFIELD.you sissy girls are all stuck with BAJAJ...motto bajaj kharido aur apni bajate raho.SAMJHE SISSY girls...;-)

Nice update, dude, this is not something which needs a makeup like human beings before a photo is clicked, If you cant see the image clearly you can ignore and moveoff.......:-P

Dude...There are washing centers all around th ecountry..look at your bike ...do you know that we can wash a bike...its water proof :P

The pulsar 200 chassis has an inbuilt defect and the wheels can never be aligned . so cornering or braking is dangerous .....there are 75% chances that you will fall as the bike does not have a natural balance as other bikes

Park the bike on center stand, keep the handle straight and stand in line of the rear wheel and try to see if both the wheels are in the same line.
You will find the front wheel protruding to the left of the rear wheel and I bet no one can align it as per standard aligning procedures and BAJAJ does not have the courage to accept the issue. they only try to cover up and to maintain their tainted name in the market.

guys its easy to maintain a p200 for those who have a respect for their bike . i had got mine which was first in my city . and still maintaining the bike . it gives me an excellent gear shift , excellent pick up , gave a top speed of 120 km/hr (119, more than karizma i.e 110) , gives me feul mileage of 40-45 kmpl . its a real good bike and better than any other 200+ cc bike in the country , better then karizma , apache , cbz-xtreme , unicorn n other bikes, . one more thing is that karizma has got the engine of a dirt bike so its engine cant be modified niether it can be considered as a sports bike so plz dont compare p200 with such low category bike.

if you dont know how to shift gears on a pulsar you will have to end up pounding on your gear levers, you face the shifting problem becos you dont shift down from top to lower gears as speed reduces and instead wait for the bike to halt and then try to kick down, try putting it to lower gears progressively as it slows down, you wont find a problem, sometimes it gets icky finding the neutral and thats where you feel its stuck the most, try to release your clutch very slightly while your foot is pressing the gear lever, the moment it shits depress your clutch immediately.. this should work easily.

voof..! man is this some insult d p200 blog..!
guys i m from mumbai n hav d p200 40m last 3 months....!
its working perfect even though i use it 4 hardcore biking n stunts...i use it 4 around 80-90 km daily n drive over 80kmph most of d tym....may by its by chnace a few pieces were of poor grade never mind u'll get free replacments..

happy biking

Now its almost 1 and half year and I think the problem is over now. Although we must accept one thing that Bajaj had given a bike to the indian roads that made many dreams comes true. And to my knowledge its the only bike on road that is muscular and truly symbolizes "YOUTH POWER & PASSION".

I think no other bike stands in the line to compete. Karizma, CBZ,..... dyas are over for them. They dont have anything more than styling. What could be done with a style if its not having a powerful and strong heart.

Pulsar ( rahter bajaj) has all the latest technology and it upgrades itself regularly. I would surely RECOMMEND people to buy this bike ( if you got the passion in your heart to let it go). And if criticism is the only thing that you know then I would suggest you to wait for your dream bike. Until then KINDLY do care of your P200. Its too dirty, man!

hey it is a nice bike its a good bike it has a good look and good breaks but dangerous but its has lot of speed so its a nice bike take it

The Bajaj bikes have very bad Gears. They are Sticky and many times i literally have to pound on them to get to the next gear.
I have a Pulsar 150 DTSI. I have got the gears serviced many times and also change the oil every 1500 kms i use the SL category oil like Castrol Power but still the gears are bad and it's very irritating...cause u can go fast on a pulsar but wats the fun if u dont have a smooth ride.

This is a problem with all Bajaj bikes and Honda is much better in quality on these things. Only thing is are u willing to pay more for a Honda!

Bajaj Service centers are just like the sarkari offices and yes they will loot you...never trust them to have done their job... i have caught them red handed many times and now am in search for a good doctor for my bike.

bro its ssexy except few probs,go fr it enjoy wth gals in bck seat

hi is that true wat ever ppl r telling or else helling..because even i have booked for p200 after checking out this review i am planning to cancel my booking.... can u assure me all te pro r sotted out????????????????

i am from kerala i booked for a p200 on 2nd of may and now the dealer is saying i need to wait till july last week.......

HI I ALSO BOUGHT PULSAR 200 AND MY PULSAR IS CLASH WITH AUTO RICKSHAW AND THEN SOME SCRACHES ARE COME ON THE SILENCER CAN I REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVER OF SILENCER OR OLNY SOLUTION IS REMOVE SILENCER.

I've got a 150 and you should see the way the authorized dealership has screwed up my bike. It has a new problem which wasn't there earlier, every time it comes out of a service.

i think some people here posted are big fans of karizma.i have used that zma and now using p200.in my opinian p200 is better than zma 100 times.tubless tyres begger rear tyre.pickup, max fast, braking, safty more than zma.and xtream was bullshit.at last bajaj is indian company.indian comp always better than others.

i dont know y the hell people buy bajaj bikes when better are available no matter what bajaj makes it will never be able to beat suzuki , honda , yamaha , in build quality. this is what matters most . my dear friends say no to quantity manufacturers insist on quality. one more thing all the pulsar dtsi 150.180.200.220 have same stroke length only the bore size differs THIS IS WHY I HATE BAJAJ BIKES . NOW GUYS OPEN UR EYES u must realise what bajaj is selling under the name of dtsi 180.200,220 these three are nothing but ported 150's hahahahahahaha

When test riding I saw 3 owners arguing with sales/service guys about oil-leakage/false neutral/noise from engine etc..but my test ride was good...brakes are too sharp(and dangerous), good accln in 2,3,4 gear. Waiting period is 60 days. OTR B'lore 74,500 bucks @ Khivraj Motors !!

Just few words on P200 : Excellent pick-up, same old Pulsar look, Pillion seat is useless, at higher speeds P200 can kill you. The bike chassis and overall balancing sucks @ high speeds. ONLY Karizma is good @ highspeeds...Unicorn n Xtreme are also fantastic.

Common guys, don't get carried away by blogs, many P200 have broken forks last few days back. Bajaj reliability sucks big time, their service is horrible. Test rides and initial reviews are always nice read and digest...but reliability and quality of Bajaj bikes are very poor.

I suggest never buy the bike untill all the problems are solved, Bajaj had some or the other problems in the first lot of bikes they release(remember the first lot of Pulsar 150 and 180 had hell lot of problems).

By the way as you suggested why buy the bike which has problems and then run behind the service center to replace the parts? (even if spares are in stock and even if it is done free of cost) You will never have peace of mind and you will never be happy of the investment you have done.

Instead i suggest all you guys to wait untill Bajaj solves all the problems and releases a new improved stock from the production line which would be much better from the one which is sold now.
