Watching Cricket on TV has become
A pain in the eye. I am not sure but I do not recall seeing one full over being bowled without an advertising break. It seems like every 6 balls are accompanied with 10 advertisements. They are practically begging you to change the channel and give some rest to your eyes.
And this is when India is no longer playing in the World Cup. I cannot imagine the mess we would have in our hands if India was playing in the Super 8.
They just show TOO many advertisements during the match play. I am pretty sure even the final match of the Fifa World Cup is cleaner. Trying to squeeze a bit too much out of the game which is struggling to gain popularity outside the subcontinent. This is MADNESS.
FIFA world cup – Two sessions of 45 to 47 minutes of UNINTERRUPTED football telecast with a ten minute half time break. All ads are shown either during half time break or before or after the game !!!! Unfortunately Cricket will never be able to match this. A pay-per-view channel in the future may be one solution – the other an ad stripping TV chip (will someone get to work on this please…)
