I am sick of ICICI Bank
They are working hard on making my life miserable. I have been their customer since 6-7 years now. I have a DMAT account with them. I have a Gold Debit Card with them. I am a Gold Customer. But they still do not think I am worthy of owning a regular ICICI Credit Card.
Now, sometime back they decided that the Gold Debit Card they issued me was not secure enough. I should have a grid based debit card instead.
They sent me one but it never reached me. But they did enable it in their system for online transactions. So, now I cannot conduct any online transaction till I manage to get my hands on their missing card.
I told them to deliver the card to the bank branch where my account is. They told me that it would be delivered within 7 days. It’s been 10 days now and the bank still has not received my card.
But they did remember to deduct the Card charges from my bank account. Something which I never wanted in the first place. Something which I have still not received.

I am also in trouble with similar problem, the funny thing is that they send me the card three times and each time they send me the card they give me air bill way number and courier. But neighter the courier reached to me not I could trace the details of the courier on the web tracking system.
Everytime I use to reply them about this problem and they used to say, sorry for the inconvinience, your card is not tracable, we will send you the new card within 10 days.

I have placed a request for Gold Credit Card. Then they have upgraded my debit card. God knows y?
then they told, my current card is expired which have validity till 2016
So, they sent new debit card. I received message that new debit card is dispatched… but I am still waiting for it.
Hey… that new credit card request is also approved & it will be somewhere in between Chennai & Bangalore.

Good to see this forum. I was thinking I am the only person suffering so much with ICICI. I have been fighting for last two years just access my account online. I spent atleast 10 hours calling wrting mailing etc. I have chains of email communication. Nobody bothers to rectify the issue. This time when I come down to India first stop will be ICICI bank.

I too am sick of them.. call their bangalore customer service number number and its always busy… i think their customer service is only used to giving calls and not recieving! hell with them!

Customer care is customer harassament with ICICI Bank. You may have to listen the tune for atlaeast 30 minutes, and moment it is connected, the people on telephone disconnects the phone and one has to agin go for the same ordeal again. It is ahopless bank. Even Nationaised banks are better than this bank.

An amusing DMAT A/c opening saga!
My husband & I wanted to open a demat account with ICICI bank. So we communicated our wishes to this bank and they sent two personals (I don’t how do they have this huge home-coming force!!!) with a bundle of documents which require signatures. My husband & I religiously signed on all the boxes marked by them, without reading them, when asked what these are for just got the answer for “Official purposes”. This took 1hour. And they told us that within 7-10 days the demat account will be opened and in between if we want to track the status of it we can do so online. So we checked the status “In Progress” and waited then again checked the status “In Progress” and waited. This continued for 3 weeks then my hubby thought of phoning them and getting the status instead of relying on this stuck status site of theirs. Well we got the reply that our application was rejected because of lack of “Address Proof”. This made us really furious because we had already told them that we are here (Bangalore) on rent (which would be communication addr) and we have our own house in Mumbai (which is permament addr). And also gave them telephone bills for proof (which they accepted with no objection). And that time there was not a problem??!! And after so many weeks they just rejected the application, and w/o informing too!!
We forgot the incident cursing ICICI and got along with the life. Then again after a month or so we got a telephone call that our demat application is pending with them and that they need signature on some other documents too. This was enough for my hubby to get all heated up as he had signed so many documents that too w/o his knowledge and also the application was already rejected by them due to lack of addr proof so what more documents they needed then? So conversation ended.
Again we got on with our lives, then some 2-3 months after we got the damn phone call again informing about the pending demat application and lack of addr proof. We told them that we had already submitted the proofs with the documents in the beginning but got rejected from their side and we did not wish to do anything from our side. And requested them to close this application. Well Well Well!! This is what they said, that we would have to APPLY to close the application and give reasons also!!! This was heights of “HUM HAI NA” raga we hear !!! Now my hubby in the most disciplined indignant tone told them that he was not going to apply or to do ANYTHING for that matter and whatever they wanted to do with the application they could do. THE END.
BUT there was a twist in the story, after some 2-3 months my hubby got a SMS saying that “Your DMAT Account has been activated”!!! So after some 6-7 months the dreaded demat account got opened by the “HUM HAI NA” team……..Where were they when it got rejected? also Why they don’t want the addr proof now? and What happened to the documents on which they wanted signature??? All these questions remain unanswered till date (and will do so till the banking world cease to exist!) In few days we received a mail from ICICI bank with demat cheque book and account info. I have got it activated on ICICI direct. Not traded yet, but planning to do so………Lets see how that experience will go……..

Never ever bank with ICICI bank. Back office team is pathetic. So called, VP of any branch does not have any power to do changes to your account or issue any other service to you. They issue credit cards to every body but not to the right guy. You can visit any ATM for withdrawl of money, either ATM will have no money or it will not work. I do call their customer care centre as customer harassment centres. The call centre employees who answer our calls do not know what is meant by customer service and seems to be that they do not know any rules of ICICI. Some times, I am surprised, whether ICICI bank got any rules books for their own employees. Nationalised banks are best to bank with. They know what they say. No confusion or no cheating. I love SBI or PNB. I hate ICICI . I am sure ICICI will be on reverse path after some years. Best of luck for those who are banking with ICICI.

Similar Experience with ICICI. There is serious problem with ICIC and courier service ‘Express IT’…. They are pathetic. They dont send credit card statements on time and when u bring to there notice they resend it FREE of cost but again u dont recieve that also . even while calling on customer care u have to wait almost 20 minutes to talk to PBO. Upar se this collection dept ( they work as if they are not related to ICICI bank) there aim is to collect minimum due so that they can charge interest on rest of the money….and when u tell them i am not gonna make any payment till all my compalints are solved they start givign u DHAMKI that we will in middle of night and all( According to RBI rules they can t harass any of the customer). I am stopping all my services with ICICI and fed up with them.

I was very much impressed with ICICI. until one fine day, I decided to ask ICICI for my internet banking password of my credit card.
I was assured that my password would be delivered within 7 working days. But even after 20-30 days when I didn’t receive it, I called them back and came to know that it has been returned because of “house locked”. “But there was no indication (some kind of slip or token) from your courier company that they made any attempt to deliver my courier” I protested. “We don’t know about that sir, this is what our system says” was the plain response. So I put another request and again same story. I could not understand how can a courier company so unprofessional that they don’t even follow simple and standard procedure to put a slip to inform addressee that delivery attempt has been made and since house was locked contact at XYZ number.

Its really a mental turture for being a customer of icici bank.I have a lots of problem with ICICI bank credit card, but when I am trying to reach them its always busy.Every day I am trying to reach them for 10/15 times but the numbers(pune) are always busy.What the hell are they doing.

Worst Customer service ,specialy thier telephony customer service.These untrained Cust reps make u frustrated.I am not able to get any work done yet thru Tel .
They really cheat the customer .I am charged four times in a year for my debit cards which i have not recieved yet.

after reading all the complaints and with my own experience, i feel nationalised banks are really good. professionalism in the staff is much better, dealing with customers is very quick and satisfying. by opening number of branches and overstaffing (hoplessly trained), number of gadgets for easying the work is making very tough for the customers.
sorry icici bank should be called time pass place.

I’ve been ICICI Bank customer for close to 8 years. Recently, requested for regeneration of password for Infinity banking. To my surprise, even after one week, it was not recd and upon checking again, was informed the request was not processed since my DOB was not updated. How is it that they have allowed me to transact all these years without DOB updating in the records? I thought ICICI Bank was managing professionally, but now I definitely have second thoughts about the people and also the systems & process. My account is a salary account opened through Company and it is surprising that this info. does not seem to have been updated.
After all the hungama and literally losing patience, I get a SMS that my request was processed and the details have been couriered, which should reach me in 7 days (courier takes 7 days to reach me). If at all ICICI bank had thought it important, they should have ensure that the courier delivers even on a Sunday !!!!
Can we expect better service from ICICI lest customers will start walking away.

I think ICICI is the worst bank in india. I recently wrote wrong a/c no on the slip and droped a DD. Even after 2 months the DD is not tracable. They are not ready to give a certificte that the DD is lost so that I can get a new DD from my employer.
The people at the branch keep lieing.

I also request net banking password in icicibank and they send a message that i will get the password in 7 working days!. but even 15 days i didn’t get the password. I called customer care more than 5 times but they said that it is already sent. Then they take a request again to sent is once again. I’m waiting again for the courier. Due to this problem I couldn’t use net banking about past 1 month. Its really very annoying.

I went to ICICI branch located in Pune(Bundgarden) to pay my 2 diffrent credit card bill.You have an option that you can deposit funds through envelope.And if you want to deposit Credit card bill then you have to show your credit card and if you dont have it then they will not accept your payment.So being a regular payer I went to pay my bill,the lady sitting at May I Help you desk took my card and pretended that she is verifying my card numbers and the numbers written on the envelope are right she tick the numbers on the envelope(means i am paying right credit card bill) and put it in her safe box,then she throw my card and ask for another payment for diffrent card after giving another envelope and diffrent card she claim the card is not right then it was observed that she has verified a wrong card and mark the numbers in the envelope as right.So i ask her then reason she said its your mistake you should give me right card I told her that i made a mistake so you did you verified wrong card and mark the envelope right that’s not good,in this comparision other national banks are good atleast they crossverify properly.So the lady made statement “THAT GO TO THAT BANK WHY YOU ARE COMMING HERE” that was really insulting statement made by her.
So I would like to say that customer service of ICICI bank SUCKS.They dont know how to handle a customer and people from management are not bother about it.

I am an NRI and I have also gone through the traumatic experience similar to the ones I just finished reading. ICICI lacks professionalism. I opened an NRE account with them but due to some strange rules I have decided to close the account. Even for closing the account they are demanding panelty!! They are super efficient in deducting money from your account for the reasons better known to them. It’s just rubbish. Ham Hain na….to cheat you!!

same story here applied for a credit card every thing was ok untill one day i got call from thir side for address and details and then a guy comes to my place and ask me all the question a police man can ask and then leaves and then they keep on calling me for the same details every day like Pan number Address and after 1 month of problems and more problems they come back to me saying it has not been approved and i cannot get and then i ask the reason they give me this compny policy shit

Cheating is in the air everywhere in India be it banks, cell phone, sms, internet, food, coupons etc service providers. HDFC bank drained all my savings because my quarterly average balance went less than Rs. 5000. They never bothered to inform me and later even closed the a/c arbitrarily. My suggestion is never go to these private banks. When you call them and they keep you waiting best is close the account. When you open an a/c, dont accept any undue fines clauses and one time processing fees. Remember by opening an a/c, they are not obliging you instead you are obliging them. With this money only they can afford to sit their ass in expensive buildings and AC.

I had scheduled for the online payment of electricity bill for 20/2/2008. I understand that the payment would be automatically done on the scheduled date. However, when I opened the BILL PAY section on 20th night, to my utter surprise it was showing ‘default’. When I tried to contact ICICI customer care, bloody shit! It was a f….ing answer “1 for credit card, 2 for loan” etc. etc. Can somebody tell me where do I contact for this type of general problems? I think, thousands of customers like me are trapped in this f…….ing bank.

Here is my problem.
I have transfered money valued Rs15000 through EFT on 29 th march from my ICICI Account to Corporation bank account Chennai Egmore branch. Due to insufficient detail the amount is not credited on corporation bank acccount. On the same day the amount reverted back from corporation bank to RBI Mumbai. But till date the amount is not yet reverted back to my icici account. Last week i have booked complaint to icici phone banking officer, every day when i ask for status of the complaint, phone banking officer said the money is successfully transfered from icici side you need to check with corporation bank. As I said above i have contacted corporation bank also. Corporation bank officer show me that the same is reverted back to mumbai RBI. But that reverted amount till date not credited back in my icici account.

I was holding the credit card of ICICI Bank. I had made number of transaction from the credit card and always tried to pay my dues on time. As you can see my statement. Last year in the month of august made approx 3 transaction from my credit card and later I tried to make more transaction. But suddenly I came to know that my card has been blocked. In the mean time I had changed my residence and changed my Account no 000701517223 to new address but forgot to change my credit card address. I had allowed ICICI bank to deduct minimum amount from back account as a credit card liability. On 29th I came to know that 14,556 rs has been debited from my account against my credit card.
As have already made it clear my intention was never to block bills intentionally. As I spoke to your phone banking executive Alvis he said it is the RBI rule that bank has a privilege to deduct amount from customer account. Is it so ?
Since I have not received any correspondence regarding my due neither ICICI bank has any confirmation if I have received the bills or not. If your bank intention were clear then you would have intimated me early but you didn’t. Neither a minimum due amount has been deducted from my bank account and suddenly 14 + rs has been deducted.
I just see this a clear act of forgery at ICICI at and would like to close my account and take this matter to judiciary if not settled properly.
