Insanity Rediscovered

So the greatest batsmen in the history of the sport finally spoke something about the rotting condition of cricket in India.

Amazingly, he had all the crap things to say. This goes well with the latest rumor in the market that seniors get a percentage of the endorsement fees when smaller players stay in the team.

Was Rahul more worried about getting 30% of Sehwag’s endorsement fees when he managed to get him in the Indian team this world cup?

I don’t exactly believe that crap. But it is pretty obvious that the ad agencies have a little too much control on how the things go in the sport.

Sachin is angry that the Coach called the group of seniors a mafia. But what he is doing is simply pathetic. He seems to be afraid of the fact that Indians have starting talking about the possibility that perhaps this is the time for him to step down and retire.

But, from what I know he signed a 3-4 year long deal last year worth a couple of million dollars. So, theoretically he would need to stay in the team till at least 2009.

I guess Ian Chappell is right. He is just staying in the team for the heck of it. No one in the board has the courage to throw him out. Indians still love him whether he wins matches for India or not. And I really cannot remember the last time; he actually won a match for India. Forget him winning a tournament for India. I actually cannot remember the last time India actually won a major tournament in Cricket.

It is like Hockey in the 80s.

The sport went ahead. The Europeans advanced. Indians were left behind. Rotting like the way Indian Cricket has began to rot. 20-20 is just the beginning. We are just not fit enough to fight it out with the Australians and the South Africans. We are more worried about our today. We do not care for the future. This is the typical Indian attitude. And it is being shown by our cricketers and the authorities as well.
