Bajaj Pulsar 200

A dude at work bought this bike after much thinking and research. He decided to go for this bike over Bajaj Pulsar 180 and the Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme.

I have driven it for some time and I think I am impressed. Performance is awesome. It has no kick as the company has only given self starter (the only bike in India to have this feature I think). Tires are tubeless (another unique feature?).

One minor hassle is that the side stand is tough to open when you are sitting on the bike as it comes in between the foot rest (which is a bit too far behind) and the main stand.

Another minor issue is the fact that the main stand seems to have excessively flexible springs and they bounce down enough to hit roads on bigger potholes on our Gurgaon roads.

But, I do love the switches which come with their own illuminated backlights. Very nice tough indeed. The bike looks awesome and I would love to get more rides on it over longer distances!

i had bought pulsur 200 it is awesome very cool looking bike i would advise to buy oulsur 200 rather than any other bike .

  2. Srini Says:

Almost all the first batch of P200 are reeling under Bajaj’s service stations due to TONS of issues with the bikes. Engine noise, gear slipping, false neutrals etc etc …Avoid this FLOP-BUSTER from Bajaj ATLEAST FOR 6 MONTHS !!!!

  3. Preetham Says:

Hey guys…just saw brand new p200 at a bunk…the owner said simply to avoid this bike…he said he is facing many gearbox related problems ….and guess….after filling petrol…it didn’t get started….it has no kick lever….the bunk guys were suggesting him to empty tank and try start it….The tank fairing looks very very cheap….do avoid this bike for time being as stated by above post.

  4. yogesh Says:

Hey !!! Guys I am totally in Love with this New bike pulsar 200,its stunning beauty at first glance. It has most of the feautures of the Sports bike,Lol looks like bajaj jas all planed to give us a sports bike on indian roads. The onlly one thing i really dont like is it engine ..too noisy ! would prefer pulsar 200 looks with unicorns engine added toit
iF BAJAJ techies do read our feedback would suggest come up with a good and a smoother engine with reallly cool firing noise. reast all u guys rock in designs !
    Good luck for future !

  5. Chance Says:

P200 is the most reliable bike in India, oil cooled Engine, no kick lever, beautiful Console and many features first of it’s kind in India…..every rupee is accounted for this bike…in fact this bike should cost more that it should….Bajaj is helping India by offering top quality bikes at rock-bottom prices…..one day Bajaj will beat Honda in techology.

  6. SHAIKH SHOEB Says:

    CBZ IS GOOD BIKE.

  7. Aashish Says:

    i m totally confused here….
i luv the luks and new features of P200…..and i m lukin forward to buy it in a month or so….but the posts about high engine noise and…trouble with gearbox are not helpin me….the launch of new karizma makes it even more difficult choice….what shud i do wait for DTS-FI…??….help…
P.S can anyone tell me whts the milage they r getting from the P200…

  9. Anupam Kuruvilla Says:

Hey guys, Forget P200, Bajaj is cheating people….I was surprised to know that it is targeted with ‘fuel efficiency’ tag …what maroons are these Bajaj guys !! I had P180…it used to give me 25-30 kmpl….and now bajaj is saying 40+ kmpl….and I’m sure there are fools who believe it….@ Khivraj B’lore the dyno read FE of 90 kmpl….he said 30% less on road…so…it is about 55 kmpl !!!!

Go for Zma if you are enthu….and go for Unicorn or Xtreme if you are mileage conscious…avoid this stupid pulsar

  10. Karthikeyan Says:

    Hi Guys,
I just got this bike recently (3 weeks), and i liked it. First of all try to understand that unlike the previous Gen bikes this bike brings in new technology. My comments on few of the posts follow.

    1) The bike wont start if the gear is engaged and has a time laps set between every 3 failed start to conserve battery, hold the clutch and start it, filling the tank has got nothing to do.

    2) On a long ride it’s giving me 50 + and arnd 40 + in city ride conditions (I live in Chennai) likely to increase after couple of service.

    3) Gears aren’t as smooth as a 2 Stroke bike but still are smooth if the gears are changed at right speed level

    4) Yes the center stand do some-times hit the ground on rough road.

    5) Shockers are pretty decent

    6) Pillion seating isn’t comfortable except otherwise it’s ur girlfriend ;)

    7) For those who are already owners i strongly suggest to read the manual first to know small lil things which u might miss otherwise.

    8) Ride as per the recommended speed for the first 2000 KM.Remember it’s crucial distance for your bike to set.

  11. nikhil singh Says:

i think this is the best bike bajaj has ever produced… after those 2 stroke engines… n comin to noise…. its not as bad as your rx-100’s… when u can manage those… u can manage this… i don really know who is tat fool who said his 180 was giving… 25-30… i’ll iel u one thing my boy… don overload your vehicle… try learning how to ride first… 200cc. is really givin 40+…welll u may be jealous of the bike….

  12. Abhir Says:

Hi there pulsar 200 has changed the image of indian biking just go for it .it gvs ml of 45 kmpl . l am owning an avenger and being 180 it gives me mileage of 53kmpl at constant speed of 60km

  13. HYPE RAJA Says:

P200 is full of hype, just 20cc + HYPE to P180, Bajaj is cheating people by putting cheap chinese…some parts are faining and causing accidents. Fuel economy is only initial, but after one yr, P180 will not give more than 35 kmpl…..Bajaj is minting money and fools are buying these stupid bikes

  14. rahul Says:

hey.. i agree with “hype raja”.. pulsar 200 is really full of cheap parts. just search on google for “fork beakage in pulsar200″ and you’ll see.. but no, pulsar is not really a stupid bike.. the 150 is really great and so is the 180.. 180 is a more powerful bike, so you cannot expect a very high mileage. but keep within 50-60 for the first 2000 kms and send your bike for servicing on time (everytime) and you’ll get a mileage of 40-45 for sure.. i’ve been doing that and have not been getting any engine trouble so far.. getting 25-30 is just because of bad maintenance.. dont neglect your bike and then blame it on the company

  15. prashanth@bichoo Says:

  17. CHINMAY Says:

Pulsar 200 is a marvel no doubt. And i dont doubt the mileage. The point is
if you can afford a bike like pulsar 200 then fuel efficiency should not be a problem. Even if that is a concern the only other bike available is Karizma which is more expensive, and p 200 p180 is any day better than that.
I plan to go for P200, but i will wait a while as p220 is about to be launched. And one more thing my P150 dtsi gives 60kmpl if i ride it sensibly and not like maniac

  18. HYPE RAJA Says:

CHINMAY : In CBZ-X comment section you are saying 65 km/l and here you are saying 60 km/l. :) :) :) on road ?? 30 kmpl?? Many Pulsar owners lie mileage…u r not alone !!!!!!!

You think people are fools to believe whatever crap you write, my cousin has Pulsar and gives just 35 kmpl (1.5 years old)…maintainence is very costly at Pro-bike showroom

  19. CHINMAY Says:

grow up hype raja. Mileage is between 60 to 65. your view proves common sense is uncommon. I hope you grow up soon. Pulsars rule the market in any segment (150, 180, 200 and the next moidel 220(which will send HH packing)) proves the point.

  20. CHINMAY Says:

HYPE RAJA (Only hype): who knows how your cousin handles his bike. who knows how often he services his bike. And who knows if your are speaking true. As your name suggests only hype………..

  21. Ilyas Mohamud Says:

P200 Issues till date (from Pro-bike mechanic)
    1. Engine overheating (1 in 2)
    2. Gearbox (1 in 2) some are good some are equally bad.
    3. Clutch issues still plague PULSARS
    4. Understeering (can cause serious accidents)
    5. Braking too sharp. (3 minor accidents in Test ride itself)
    6. handling @ high speeds not good (not like Honda Unicorn/CBZ Xtreme)

  22. Sushubh Says:

after riding to delhi a couple of times i agree with you completely.

  23. jan Says:

hi i ve a PULSAR 200 which has done 420 km.the bike is just great…lately ive been hearing people saying crap bout the P200 ……..let me tell u the bike is excellent…….. no broken front forks …..no smoke from silencer……..the quality is top notch……….i think hype raja has a HH bike…..look at HH bikes the EXTREME looks like it has come fresh out of an accident………HH people forgot how to build bikes after the CBZ ..the KARIZMA is a good bike but it gets beaten fair and square by the P200…….. face the truth raja ……..HH is going downhill…….BAJAJ?? u decide

  24. Prakash Says:

Bajaj fools are back again with big bang, cheating 1000s of people with punny bikes. P200 is highly accident machine, ride carefully, thanks to Bajaj for building India’s first suicide machine…..get killed at even low speeds if forks give away :)

And all bajaj bikes will have free
    1. Gearbox problems
    2. Clutch problems
    3. Engine noise
    4. Horrible to Worst reliability
    5. Cheating after sales

All power ratings of Bajaj bikes are fake, they are cheating masses….please know that new Discover135 has 13.1 BHP whereas old CBZ had just 12.8 bhp :) Discover135 sucks if two people sit on it, it will never reach even 70 speed with two people…….CBZ can zoom past 100 with two in 20 secs or so….

A very good proof that Bajaj fools people….and please bear in mind that we have foolish fan following for this dirty company

  25. Rakesh Says:

Well lemme start off.. HH Karizma come with a small rear tyre , 17 BHP its air cooled and may give you a mileage of 30-35 max… but the pulsar 200 come wid wide rear tyres is more powerful nd mileage is btw 45-50 for sure… wid all this it proves PULsaR 200 is a better bike than karizma.. Its more efficient nd affordable though being a more power full bike…..!!

I do agree standards of HH are better because they are tied up wid hondA.. I own a Karizma its not tat i dont like it… but pulsar is a better option.. ND ONE LAST THING ” IN TWO YEARS HH CONTRACT WID HONDA WILL GET OVER … tats wheN the fun BEgins..

  26. chinmay Says:

Hey prakash, Just grow up. And start applying some brains. this is what i can tell u

  27. chinmay Says:

Sushubh there are lot more P200 owners who believe in opposite of what u say. And pulsars are setting the market on fire.

  28. Sushubh Says:

i have a pulsar 200 standing in my house. it’s shockers were replaced by bajaj. does not inspire confidence in me.

people did not get injured due to breaking shockers? they could have died.

bajaj has not apoligised to the pulsar 200 owners publicly. they have not released any public statement confirming the problems in the initial units of pulsar 200.

they are just fixing the problem through their dealers. don’t want the general public to know that they messed up big time with the pulsar 200’s initial units.

  29. chinmay Says:

Sushubh, there are lot many P200 users who think exactly opposite of what u do. And let me tell u the shocks developed minor cracks and Bajaj guys promptly replaced it. And the thing is nobody met with any accident due to this reason. What do u call HH guys, who charge us exhorbitant prices for decades old Honda technology? That explains why Pulsars outsell CBZ, CBZ Xtreme, Achiever and Unicorn (all honda products)
And from my experience Bajaj guys have always been on their toes regarding cutomer satisfaction. I rate them highly and my future upgrade has to be bajaj Pulsar.
Even Toyota which is world no.1 motor company recalled millions of cars last year due to quality problems, even Merc does it.

  30. Sushubh Says:

I never said that Pulsar 200 disappoints. I think it’s an exciting bike. I love riding it.

Minor cracks? Check out the photos posted here:
    http://broadbandforum.in/automotive-forum/11500-bajaj-pulsar-200-unsafe/

These are not minor cracks but broken body parts. Problem serious enough that could have resulted in major accidents.

Bajaj guys replaced it. Agreed. But did they made a public service announcement? Nope.

Hero Honda make reliable bikes. People buy them because they last and they deliver what they promise. They do not experiment with their products. Bajaj has been experimenting since the very beginning with Pulsar that is why we have probably seen multiple versions. Pulsar is like Tata Indica. They launch a product. Fix the problems, launch a new variant. The process goes on.

Bajaj guys took more than a month to get the replacement shockers for my bike. Not a very good scene when the bike definitely had issues with the quality of the shockers. If they were on their toes, they would have gotten the replacement parts at a faster pace.

Toyota. They make reliable cars. But they have faltered and they fix the problems. But the recall is made public. It is revealed in news and it is made public. They tell the particular model numbers which are having security issues. Bajaj did nothing of that sort. I don’t remember reading anything about recall of Bajaj Bikes in the newspapers.

  31. chinmay Says:

remeber Pulsar 200 and 220 are technologically more adavanced than any other bike and they are bound to have some issues in the begining. And from my personal experience Bajaj guys are always there to respond to any problem with your machine.

Pulsar 150 and 180 dont have any such issues, and i have been using p 150dtsi since more than 2 years. No reliability problems.

That was the only problem with P200. Apart from that no issues.
If you crib about one such incident like this then theres no point of explaining.
And remember Bajaj guys upgrade their models even when they asell like hot cakes.
And today Pulsar 150 and 180 are on par with HH bikes on quality levels.
And trust me this is just one of incident from Bajaj and P 200 is a high quality bike. I have tested my friends bike. All the parts are top class from switches to the rear mudguard

  32. Rajeev Says:

Looks like Prakash belongs to Bajaj Competitor’s camp who are dull, boring and nagging like the company they support.

There is no match to bajaj technology and products. They have changed the scenario of motorcycle market in india. Todays biking experience is the gift from Bajaj. However, Hero Honda has fooled the public for over two decades by giving same 100 cc engine on all bikes but with different names and price tags starting from CD/CDss/Dawn/CDDelux/Sleek/ Street/Splendor/Passion and others.

Bajaj has always given new, superior technology and excitement. I have a pul200 and have done 2800km in just 46 days!! with absolutely zero complaint.

Prakash, stop wearing stripe undies, look out for more comfortable and reliable stuff that has come in the market.

    Rajeev

  33. swasata Says:

    hey all HH lovers,
You think bajaj have been fooling people? Then what about HH? They have been fooling people for over a decade. same engine for all the 100cc segment bikes ,same engine for all the 150cc segment bikes . The only bike which comes with a different engine is the karizma but it has no advanced technology and is overly priced. Dumb and illetarate people go for HH. And when the tie between hero cycles and honda motors will end , then we will see cycles in place of bikes in all the HH showrooms(coz that is what they make the best!!!!!!!). Pulsar rules and dominates the indian bike market and they will continue to do it.

  34. chinmay Says:

I am happy with my pulsar150 dtsi, and next week i am booking P200 in blue. You guys will be surprised to read this. P2200 costs Rs.71,000.00 in Vashi and HH Karizma which is technologically light years behind P200 costs Rs. 92,000.00. Isn’t this height of stupidity.
At this price i can buy P200 and the spares for next 2 years.
Think about it befor buying Karizma.
P180 and 200 have really made life hard for Karizma and P220 soon will go for the kill.

  35. swasata Says:

I completely agree with you chinmay. Karizma is an overpriced bike with no technology.I am also going to buy P200 sometime around next week.It is a great bike and is giving karizma a very hard time. So all we have to do is to wait for the launch of P220 to see the death of karizma same as the way CBZ died with rhe advent of pulsar.

  36. Akshay Says:

Guys i got a pulsar 150cc..2006 model..it works jus fine no..issue..except for one problem..i think bajaj shld make steel or metal braces where the battery is kept..my battery got stolen on sunday 27th may2007..its sks dude…i had to pay 1400 to get the new battery, wires n other stuff fixed..also my side panel is screwd..that they say will cost me 550/-…im not arguing with the cash but..i think if bajaj jus puts a steel or metal brace like i got fixed now..then it’s be awesome for all its customers..Im very happy with the bikes performance n there’s truely no competition to a bajaj in india..so u HH guys r pussy if u luv ur hh bikes..Bajaj Rulz n it’ll always be KING!

  37. Harsha Says:

Hooligans who don’t understand what reliability is will always go for Bajaj !! Their money is not hard-earned !! HH produces bikes that last min. 5 yrs w/o any issues. Whereas many Bajaj bikes develop serious complication within a year or so. My frnds’ P150 (5 days old) was stripped off fully due to some noise in engine !!After that, power went down, mileage went down, etc etc…he is yet to take the bike above 70 kph speed evn though he bought it two months ago.

  38. chinmay Says:

Harsha, i own a pulsar 150 dtsi for more than 2 years. I never experienced any such issues.

and i can give you 1000 instances where newly bought HH bikes have conked off.

Look today Bajaj is on par with any other bike in India on quality level.

And more people buy Pulsars than any other high end bike.
And remember Bad products dont sell in India.

Remember what happened to Kinetic bikes?

  39. chinmay Says:

And also grow up Harsha,,,,,,,, money is always hard earned.
Its never easy to earn money. And if i am putting 72000 on P200 i know it is worth every Rupee

  40. Sushubh Says:

show me proof that hero honda bikes have bad quality.

i am giving you proof of pulsar 200’s bad quality:
    http://broadbandforum.in/automotive-forum/11500-bajaj-pulsar-200-unsafe/

  41. chinmay Says:

sushubh what u are showing is something even Bajaj has accepted. And i can give you 1000 instances where new HH bikes have conked off.
Just because Pulsars are famous there are some HH owners or fans who are hell bent on giving Pulsars a bad name. But Pulsar still sells like hot cakes. And the proof is declining Karizma and growin P200 numbers.
And you talk about TOYOTA going to public about recalls, the truth is no company ever goes public with that.
The truth is the recalls they do is in millions and this any way goes out in media. and in us.
And did u ever know the first batch of Honda civic sold in India also had a defect in their welding and they had recalled civics?

  42. chinmay Says:

And Sushubh the best part is what you are showing almost everybody knows still P200 numbers are rising. This shows the confidence people have in Bajaj.

And my personal experience with bajaj has been amazing, and they always respond to ur mails promptly.

NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY OR SHOW PULSARS ARE SELLING WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM

  43. Sushubh Says:

i am still waiting for proof from your side showing the problems people are facing with hero honda bikes.

  44. Sushubh Says:

numbers are in hero honda’s favor. no matter what you say. bajaj is losing sales. hero honda is managing to improve them. slowly but they are increasing.

  45. chinmay Says:

what increasing numbers you are talking. Read economic times, for the month of March - May Bajaj and HH sales had declined. Bajaj sales declined because they were sorting out inventory issues and also they have setup a new plant in Uttaranchal so there was production side restrains.

As for HH numbers HH is today only because of Splendor, Passion, CD100 and not because of CBZ or Karizma,
But Bajaj is today because of Pulsars.

And HH sales are not increasing because of CBZ xtreme or Karizma sales, but because of 100cc bikes as Bajaj is exiting from the 100cc segment and they are planning to launch Disco 125 with the price tag of 100cc bikes.

and thats the reason why they are producing less 100cc bikes.

Also if you didnt know, Bajaj is ramping up production big time to 300000 units , and i think no company with sliding sales would want to do that……….
And about issues with HH, I have seen new Karizma s stalling in traffic because of Engine ceasing.
Now i was not moving with my camera then. also if is start writing eacha and every thing then it will take ages.

  46. Sushubh Says:

i am here and you are here. i guess we would see whether bajaj manages to overtake hero honda.

i have my doubts. i really hope bajaj sort out the issues with pulsar. i am dead scared of riding my pulsar 200 over 100kmph…

  47. chinmay Says:

and Sushubh if u had so many issues with Bajaj then who forced you to buy a bajaj P200, why didnt you gor for the karizma????????????

and i dont think this is your first bike, as no one will directly buy a 200cc bike without prior experience with any bike.

So what was your first bike? Was it a HH or Bajaj? And if HH then mate you have just contradicted urself

  48. chinmay Says:

    you in Delhi right?
I saw your profile in orkut.
Wait i will ride toy Delhi on my new P200 and then i guess we can argue there

  49. Sushubh Says:

umm i bought the p200 in march. i just took a 10 minute test ride.

i own a 7 year old splendor. flawless. gearshift on splendor are still better than the one on p200.

  50. chinmay Says:

Dudes i am riding P150 dtsi since more than 2 years, and i have also ridden splendor, now what u r saying isd totally absurd.

I took an hour long test ride on P200 and its mind blowing. The gearbox is the smoothest gear box from Bajaj and definitely any time better than Splendor.

And i guess you dont put in so much money without proper research, and if you were happy with Splendors gearshift then you should have also tesridden Karizma. WHO forced you to buy P200 if you were so happy with Splendor??????

    Come on stop contradicting yourself

  51. chinmay Says:

A Very interesting piece of information for all the Pulsar lovers, Bajaj is working on a 300 - 400cc Pulsar model which should be out by the end of 2008

  52. Riaz Says:

I will come directly to the point.

I have a CBZ Xtreme and following are my reviews and reasons why i have got it.

1.Looks(Most hot topic abt CBZX): If you have seen only pic of the bike,i swear not to go by

pics. Goto a showroom and have a close look at the bike you will find the difference. More you see it the more you love it. Many said that Headlamp looks odd, some say its as fusion between few bike’s headlights, I dont think so, observe keenly, Headlamp is completely different from any other bike, and coming to embedded indicators, its better to have embedded rather than hanging when they are broken(usually seen in pulsars & discover nore),
am i right? and this is my bet to you all after you see the bike closely not in pic…you will find the difference.

    2. Performance: When comes to performance i have seen no one wants to compare their bikes(pulsars especially) with CBZ Xtreme. All pulsar owners can only speak abt looks, nothing else. 149.2CC, 14.4BHp, 0-60 4.8 Sec, Max 115kmph. any pulsar(150cc,180cc) owner can compete with me in accelaration, top speed, balance, handling, road grip with me.

Most reviews here are only on looks, observe keenly. not on performance. when come to journey finally it comes to performance not looks, am i right?

in CBZ-Xtreme Speedometer you wont find usual economy zone indicator(Green color between 40-55kmph, i hope you all know what does this mean, Its a pure powerbike not concentrating on mileage.

But………CBZ-X gives 50kmpl in city roads. better than old CBZ’s 35kmpl and competetive with pulsars 52kmpl.

I have driven new Pulsar 150cc (more than 1000KM) with so called advanced features like digital console and etc. not much of difference between old pulsar. Just makes a sound as of 150cc bike, but can compete with Bajaj Discover, Super splendour( this is better than pulsar cos, comparing with pulsar, super splendour easily touches 70kmph in 3rd gear, give a try and see). its a just old pulsar with cosmetic changes which has lost its exclusivity( i hope what does this mean). uses some hi-fi DTSI terms no one knows what it does!, Observe any pulsar’s rear mud-gaurd, its shakes so much that it may fall any time. at 90kmph pulsar nice massager with good vibrations but Xtreme is stable still at 115kmph.

another compared feature is weight: more heavy your bike more road grip you get. any how CBZ is not for a 5ft to 5′8″ guy.

after driving both the bike these are my feed back on CBZ-X and Pulsar 150cc, lets go in detail

    Maker:
HH: Known for its quality bikes and good maintanance.
Bajaj: What can you expect from 3 Wheeler manufracturer, pulsar is well known for gear problems, metal fatigue, dangerous fuel tank design, getting offbalance when dics brakes are used.

    Engine:
CBZ-X: 149.2cc, 14.4Bhp @ 8000rpm (best in its segment), Topspeed @ 115kmph(best in its segment),0-100kmph 19.2 sec(best in its segment),0-60kmph 4.8sec(best in its segment), Mileage 50kmpl in City, 61kmpl Highways, alloy wheels with tuffup tubes, Disc Brake system, LED Tail Lamp, Multi Reflector Head lamp
New Pulsar 150cc: 149.8cc, 13.8Bhp @ 8000rpm, Topspeed 110kmph (if you try more than that, handle will be in you hand , not attacked with the bike), 0-100kmph 22.1 sec, 0-60kmpg 5.3 sec, Mileage 50kmpl in city, 60kmpl on highways, allow wheels, Disc Brake, LED Tail Lamp, Multi Reflector Head lamp

Looks: This is the only place where pulsar can compete with CBZ-X, i find both look good, but if want to be in the crowd go for pulsar. as far my knowledge apache and unicorn are good looking bikes too. Again , dont go by the pictures, goto showroom and have a look.

    Handling:

Before starting this, have you performed this test on you bike before buying it?

Do this, Ride your bike at 30-40kmph speed and leave handle, is you bike still going in straight line or swaying?

CBZ-X: CBZ-X goes in a straight line, No skidding even at turns at 100kmph, Cruise thru city traffic easily, Easy braking, since the riding postion in CBZ-X is designed so that you lean forward like in racing bikes, that will help you in easily applying brakes.

New Pulsar 150cc: Does Pulsar goes in straight line in above test? Know for its dangerous fuel tank design, If hope your “Definitely Male ” thing may be lost if you use disc brake at high speed in this bike. Riders easily fall when u use disc brake at low speeds too. known for getting off balance at steep turns, Due to its low wheel displacement.

    Comfort:

One more test here, check the angle at your hip horizontal to bike, when you sit on the bike.

CBZ-X: you are leaning on to the bike, and you are in comfortable postion, this is same as in any racing bike. you can observe 70 Degree to 80 Degrees angle at your hip.

New Pulsar 150cc: stiff at 90 Degrees, easy back ace with in minutes.

I’ve got still more points ….but first let me get any feedback on my reviwes..i will answer each of your queries

    1. Same looks, same body, same old stuff
    2. Digital stuff are faulty and headache, no warranty
    3. Gearbox still sucks big time.
    4. Engine - no refinement at all, Bajaj don’t know about ‘re-fining’
    5. Overall reliability sucks (fork is proof)
    6. Power decreases after every service, expect some issues as well.
    7. Riding posture can give pain in your wrist n back.
    8. Service : Ist time you are treated like VIP, then like stupid.
    9. Maintainence cost/spares are very costly - please check it out, Hero Honda spares are cheaper than Bajaj - please check.
    10. Service : Ist paid service cough up above Rs.800 !! IInd paid service Rs. 1200 (if there are no issues). If some issues are there, better rob money !!

And for people who are comparing HH n Bajaj, I’m very sorry for you guys !! HH is one of the most reputed co. in India, Bajaj is not yet. HH stands for legend and reliability, Bajaj stands for issues and noisy gearbox !!

As far as hooligans rule blogs, Bajaj rules !! But HH is true champ !!

HEY chinmay, I personally like the P200 as well as P220, I suggest u read the content twice before posting, u can’t get P220 in Rs.71,000 any where, and I guess u were pointing to P200. also Let me make one thing clear that U R f**k**g ur self, BOSS getting a bike for Rs.71,000 and spending Rs.20,000 in 2 years will really be a hassel filled frustration, rather people will go for a bike that’s costly and trouble free even if it cost’t Rs.92,000.

I still prefer the killer looks of PULSAR 200 as it comes with that cool BLACK look, and am thinking that I will go for P200 and not P220, once the P220 is upgraded with black look and 250cc engine and 25BHP I will go for that, and I am 250% sure that this is gonna happen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

  58. Vasu Says:

One guy in Pune sold his new p220 for Rs.70,000(or may be less than that), but the bike has issues and even blasted spark plug like a missle. Bajaj is doing cheap stuff by trail n error method. Visit XBHP and see problems of P200 and P220. Bajaj sucks and cheats people very badly.

  59. Vasu Says:

Sushubh is wrong, he’s comparing legend Splendor with cheap cheat Bajaj Pulsar. HH stands for Reliability and LEGEND.

Bajaj stands for ’stupid gearbox’ and ‘poor quality’.

HH rules Bajaj sucks and cheats

  60. billu Says:

whatever u think bajaj is rocking with his 150cc & 200cc bike segment

  61. sanjay Says:

Hey guys i have got Pulasr 150 DTSi i used it less frequently, but agree to the HH guys that HH goes for reliability and safety whereas Bajaj goes for trail and error method,My bikes skids while applying front disc brakes. Actually its low weight machine with lot of power. But i still think during this coming days Bajaj will have its own quality standard as that of HH.

Hero honda sucks big time…the worst company in styling its products and the graphics that sport their so called bikes, even a kindergarden kid would do a better job if you him him/her a few colour crayons.

Check out their again the so called upgrade of the hh karizma…have come out with a screwed up job..u call that an upgrade..may be for hero hondas crazy fans that would do. Even after the pulsar 180 has pulled the pants of the karizma in terms of performance the hh guys couldnt get a proper karizma…

What i presume is hh is a God at producing bikes like splendor and a Dog in producing performance and better styled bikes.

  64. Mar Says:

Bajaj still has miles to go before being a good performance bike maker. All said and done - Karizma is even today more reliable and performs better than the P200. Dont go by the speedo. P200’s speedo shows 145 when the real speed(As measured by a speed gun) is somewhere near 120. Fooling public. The biggest thing bajaj has missed is - You cant tell a P150, 180, 200 and 220 from each other in the first look. They have not bothered atleast to use a different petrol tank design. And as usual trial and error on public. Failed gear boxes, broken forks, leaking oil, stupid turning radius… Wakeup guys… admit it. Bajaj needs to have done more testing before making errors on public. Yes they will one day make quality pulsars after getting defects from all its customers. By then the Honda CBR series or something else will be here to take the competition to the next level!

  65. P.D.Sekhar Says:

    Hi All,

I am having hh splndr and p200 when comparing with technology bajaj is the boss , i agree with all that pulsar is having some problems which will be soon rectified.

And after the one and only Boss will be Bajaj.

For all be carefull while driving use both brakes for effective braking.

  66. anil Says:

    Hi guys,

karizma is 223cc,17hp and pulsars 200cc,18hp. Can u people think that karizma beats pulsar 200.No way less CC and more hp that leads the way and to win the race. karizma looks wise good(comman) and pulsar is with muscular body shape. Its Awesome. Maintainane is cheap than karizma.n u can use ur bike as u like.Bajaj made for indian roads. And most o f the people are saying some problems with forks and clutch. These all rubbish. The new pulsar 200CC is good.My opinion is go for p-200 if want to bike a bike which leads the road.

  67. Ujwal Says:

WOW !! Bajaj is back to cheat people, similar chassis, same tank, same paining riding posture, same old clunky gearbox, worst looks, very bad steering. Left hand turning is ok right turning in mid-range speeds can topple you down !!! That’s Bajaj engineering for fools !!

  68. Menas Ahmed Says:

    hi guys,

Before i write anything… i would like to advice chinmay and sushbush not to fight like kids here. As for the whole atmosphere here…. the TRUTH stands out clear from the FAKE. my advice to all the guys is that, go for CBX extreme or Unicorn if ur choice n budget is for 150 cc. you will be assured with a trouble free ride for even a decade (depends). and if you want a higher performance bike… then wait for zma FI with fuel injection. if you have a little more patience then wait till a higher cc Honda/yamaha vehicle is launched. Yamaha may come up with a higher capacity bikes in 2008 and so will honda… but yamaha is more likely to come out first with its Fazer 250.
I dont want to fight with pulsarians because their comments are baseless. and i dont want to be a kid by fighting with them. i went to Pro-Biking today and saw the P220 for the first time. I tested it in the testing platform what they have in the hyd showroom. I am trully impressed with this facility (platform) and they said its a german equipment…. Thank God bajaj did not build that… else i would have sky rocketed and crashed killing atleast 5 people, when i did a 120 with the bike.

Here is my review abt the P220….
    1. good raw untamed power
    2. very poor quality even in the tank
    3. very poor welding quality even for its main frame. chk it out.
    4. poor mirror visibility
    5. same old boring pulsar… with a couple of HP more.
    6. same old horrible/pathetic build quality
    7. same old un-reliable engines (its the same engine family)
    8. the low beam projector lamp is impressive.
    9. a hefty 91k on road price. why should one pay so much for this scrap metal?

i own a brand new unicorn (earlier i had a rx 135)…. The unicorn’s main plus points is its ultra refined power plant and the state of the art monoshocks, providing it top-notch handling and very competitive performance compared to pulsars. the difference is when pulsar screams out unpleasantly the unicorn does it silky smooth. For guys who wants a little higher doze of power then go for cbz extreme. heard its nice. but not a big leap of a power difference from unicorn… so i would suggest guys to go for the one which looks better in your eyes. after all looks matter too. The unicorn is once again higher in quality compared to cbzX. Sorry, i wont compare it with pulsars. i never insult my bikes.

According to me, Bajaj Pulsar sales is high because of several reasons:-
    1. Because some people trust bajaj as they trust Maruti
    2. Pulsar was the first bike in india which was powerfull enough to beat the then cbz.
    3. They had then, the top of line 180 cc.
    4. Totally new styling concept…street fighter like and a bit resembling to ducati dark monster (i liked the looks then but now i am pretty bored with it)
    5. The right timing of the launch of product.
    6. a few funky and some useless features provided.

but my questions about bajaj are:-

    1. Why bajaj is panicking about honda?
    2. why are they providing all fancy features which atracts many orthodox customer lineup?
    3. Why do they provide backlit switches for pulsar? not even 1/1000 riders will see the switch and then operate. I would agree it if there are that many switch controls like the Honda Goldwing :)
    4. They and even people say that the speedo instument is the most fault free…. then why is the rpm needle responding late. check it out… for quick throttle raise n release the rpm needle goes up after the throttle is closed.
    5. Why is the LCD display too much bright orange lit in the night condition?(zma LCD light is perfect) my eyes are getting strained. And i am sure that 8/10 pulsariance would say “wow! amazing!!”
    6. Why was P200 fork faulty? why wasnt it tested at all before its launch?
    7. Why didnt bajaj recall the P200 publicly?
    8. Why does the rear fenders which is designed new for UG3 dancing with every bump on the road? did they test it when they changed the existing design? The same goes with front forks as well.
    9. Why are other manufacturers so obsessed about LED tail lamps? so why does the people?
    10. why bajaj is not improving on its quality of bike? (please dont judge quality by just looking at the petrol tank paint job finishing)
    11. Why bajaj does not improve on its gear box? why is there a lot of slippage in lower gears? Why clutch problems not rectified?
    12. Why is the front suspension of pulsar too soft than required? Compare the suspension response of that of a HONDA. I suspect this tht bajaj want to make people feel the power. the suspension gives the feeling tht the bike is powerfull in every gear initial acceleration. This is so dangerous during hard braking.
    13. why people give priority to LED tail lamps rather than the main powerplant of the bikes?
    14. Honestly, how many pulsarians are having a smooth ride after 2-3 years of owning the bike?

These questions are not asked in an intention to make fun… but they are just to read and wonder :)

out of all the people who i know having pulsars… all of them are unhappy about the ride quality after a year.. and some even after 4-5 months. and out all the people who i know and own unicorn, none are upset about the choice of vehicle.

It was a tough job for honda to play they game in india. and i trully agree the after sales service are truly not upto the mark. but even i can see that improving a little bit now.

I would not like honda if it hits the PANIC button and starts providing a few gizmos like its competitors… just to be in the competition. I would anyhow welcome it but I am sure if they do it… then pulsar would provide something extra and useless, for example:- A Weather Forecast Instrument on the LCD,etc :))) and it would defenitely be a HIT and people would expect the same from other bikes. Irrespective of my comments, i would heartly welcomed these features…. Had they improved on the engines, performance, handling and quality.

Honda will defenitley climb up in sales figures…. but with a time and progressive improvement in marketing strategy. For sure people will understand the value of product in time.

Note:- out of all races i had against pulsar with my unicorn, not even once did i lose. i dont care if its a 150 or 180. never tried it with P200 or P220 and i am sure i wont win in the straights neither in the acceleration. But hey… i can try it out in the curvy roads…. :) and hey my bike is just 150 cc :)

i even used to beat them off easily with my 9 year old RX 135. btw did any one imagine about a 9 year old pulsar on road? Please don’t laugh!

With time honda will learn the indian customers and their needs.
And before any critisizes just imagine how bajaj would have handled the situation if they launched a new bike in some new country like ZAMBIA????

And what ever the cases are… i still applaud to the bajaj coz they have achieved success at a huge scale… and made pulsars which is a big hit in INDIA!!
But beleive me guys the sales are coming down. 2 years down the line what is NOW will be HISTORY!!

Note: for better continued performance for unicorn on long rides and very hot conditions try changing the engine oil. Use the same grade 20w40. dont exceed 40 as it will be thicker than recomended, and the engine will be tighter in normal temp, but goof in very high temp. Try to use synthetic oils from Mobil 1 or motul. Valvouline has also got its semi synthetic oils.

And please do wear a helmet always! It is not a crappy ugly piece meant to be just dangling on your handle bars or helmet locks. Its a part of your attire… so keep it clean and neat… especially the visor.

So enjoy your biking guys whether its a unicorn or pulsar or zma or a cbz. Just give them the right care and attention and it will serve you better and it will keep you happy and safe!

Biking means freedom to me and i dont ride fast… i just FLY LOW!!!

He fell down while negotiating a right turn. Please check this before believing what I’m saying. P200 has very bad gearbox as well :( :(

  74. Kapil Says:

All Pulsars are good value for money bikes but not the best and definitely not not legendary to say the least, they are promoted by pseudo and funded publishing houses (Oh comeon guys u know the name ) …all HH bikes have stood their ground for past 17 odd yrs without much publicity or support from any publish house, and aaargh these publish houses even make it clear in their writings that they are outrightly supporting pulsars for a single reason - moolah - through advertisements and other flow-ins. I recently picked up this mag from THE production house and it had 3-way shootout which was titled ‘ HH Karizma takes on the BIG pulsars’ and when i flipped through the pages i noticed that in performance aspects ZMA was matchin 220 FI in all aspects infact it was quicker in 0-60 and quarter mile dashes let alone the silly 200. Still to rate the bikes above ZMA they gave verdicts like 220 has smoother power delivery and better handler and all stuff, well all die hard bikers hav learned that nothing handles better than the OLD CBZ and the ZMA come wad may. i just have few questions to this pune based publish house:

Even if bajaj Pulsars beat the ZMA marginally in few areas (which they actually don’t ) are capable of doing it after five long yrs the legendary ZMA was launched so do u really call these bikes technically ADVANCED or mere COPY-CATS?

No you cannot call a 220 a full production bike it is not available freely as Bajaj is not confident of its potentioal other wise why a delay of 1and half yrs from its first announced launch date?

Do you really mean it wen u say Puldars are legendary? coz real bikers dont think so

and finally, Whhy large size Posters of the 220 immediately after its official launch? i thought you had the pictures with you for last 1 and half yr as u were carrying them in every issue, why the Posters now.

I accept unicorn is a good bike.. But the races also depends on the rider.
May be the racers with whom you raced may not be so good to beat ur speed.

So please dnt say that you won few races and so your 150 cc is the best.

the zma doesnt even have digital speedo like the 200.laaging behind in technology.

  80. adi Says:

    @ Kapil
Boss, pls chill. firstly HH are the guys who are doing all the advertising and btw it is cutting into their profits as well - wheras Bajaj generally lets their tech do the talking. anyways they dont need to coz their bikes, as u rightly mentioned are value for money.

and thats where u dont understand the importance of Bajaj. It is not a cult figure, whether or not u HH fans decide to accept it. CBZ was the pioneer.. agreed. But it had flaws. and HH did not have any R&D to rectify it.

Indians needed a powerful bike with decent economy and performance figures. Mind you, HH would still have continued with CBZ and not even introduced karizma if bajaj did not kick their ass with the Pulsars. It has changed the face of biking in India, and has ven led to HH changing its stance and bringing out tech upgrades. TVS has taken a leaf out of bajaj’s booka nd bought out the very good apache rtr.

appreciate the pulsar for what it is. powerful, reliable and path breaking. these are facts.

as far as comparisons go, as Kunal fails to understand - mere top speed is hardly important. the manner of delivery is. cornering and handling is. thats why valentino rossi can still theoretically beat stoner inspite of the latter having a more powerful ducati. coming back to bajaj, thats where fuel injection comes to the picture. also the oil cooler which has long-term benifical effects on the bike. these are advances, man. HH does not have them, they wont also unless honda decides some fine day.. okay.. let the Munjals have this machinery for their woes.

  81. Menas Ahmed Says:

Thanks Blaster! for reading my review. I think you got it wrong. I did not meant that my 150cc is best in power. I will not even be able to do a drag with cbz extreme because its more powerfull (though the engine is same), even if both the rider potentials are same. but i regularly beat other 150 cc fair and square on drags. i just had to mention the P180 there only to show that, though mine was less powerfull, i was able to cope up with that because of the handling and because of the cornering speeds the unicorn puts in. The main +point is the suspension. Even if you got the racing-line wrong on the curves, the unicorn just reponds very calmly/accurately to the corrections made while cornering. whereas, with pulsars the situation is much more panicked. The main fault is with the sitting position, handlebar-egronomics and the suspension. You cannot tilt a pulsar as confidentally as you tilt a unicorn. I hope i got your thoughts on my review cleared. Thanks pal!

  82. Blaster Says:

I am planning to buy a bike next month. Initially i was very much interested in pulsar 200 cc.. By seeing so many comments from u all, now i am totally confused.

I dint do a test drive of 200cc but I like its look, and i hope its performance is not that bad. I am worried about the problems like leaking oil and engine overheating, non available spare parts, bad brakes etc.. which was reported by a few 200cc owners in websites like http://www.mouthshut.com/review/Bajaj_Pulsar_200-124035-1.html . Did Bajaj handled these problem recently or they are still existing.

My friend suggested APache RTR 160. but i dint like its look. Can any review it and suggest me.

I want to choose between pulsar and apache. Milage like 40km is fine with me. I am not intereseted in karisma, somehow it dint attract me.

  88. Bharathwaj TS Says:

    Friends:

Most of you guys own a bike and are loyal to the brand. As far as bikes go, it is only model vs model and not company vs company. Over time, as technology progresses, new bikes are introduced so there might be some initial hiccups.

Bajaj is trying hard to grow into an international company by introducing new technology. There is bound to be some trial and errors problems, but definitely their attempt is good. It has raised the stakes in a market that was dated. Most bikers were into giving us old model bikes that were pricey too. Now, since the pulsar launch the bike market is improving with lots of better models coming in from HH as well as Bajaj. Even TVS has upgraded to Apache RTR.

HH ZMA was the first bike with a digital dashboard, a decent fairing, and the first modern bike with 200 cc plus engine etc. and even today is a good performer. P220 is a strong competitor and I heard TVS might jump in with a 200 of its own. Now, due to competition, bike companies might be giving us some better bikes including Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki planning to launch premium bikes.

So, comments from user-owners are appreciated for all others to enrich their knowledge but don’t get personal or emotional. CBZ was yuck and didn’t seel. CBZX is good. P150 and P180 first generation was not good but the current generation is much better. As time progresses, better technology comes in and all of us get to benefit.

Thanks blaster! sorry i just read the comments now. Certainly i did not like the model of the apache 150. The tanks looked smaller to me when seen from the sitting position. But certainly i would opt for RTR, given a choice againt the pulsar. The RTR 160 is much better in looks, performance and features. The apache is much more stable in handling and performance when compared to the pulsars. But i am not sure of the riding egronomics for the clip-ons in the new RTR. People basically think clip-on handle bars are the highest in specs and the best for any bikes. But certainly its very untrue. Lot of bike modifiers modify to clip-ons which might certainly look better. But not always do they offer a better riding position. Most of the modified clip-ons leaves the rider with a sterned shoulder position during riding. this will surely affect the riding adversely. For sports bike its a different story. The tank is huge, the fairing is wide enough. You lean forward, with legs angling towards back to grip the bars. and the bars are wide enough to even sense your inputs in the right way. Did not test hard on the factory fitted clip-ons for P220 or the RTR.

Btw, talking about the LED tail lamps in pulsars, i notice atleast 2-3 out of 10 bikes with the tails lamps pused out. LEDs not working?? i hope all readers will give a thought of it… after being so obsessed for the LED in the market.

One thing i really appreciate the bajaj is that, they serve as the main reason to bring some live competition in terms of offerrings to the indian 2 wheeler market.

    Have a nice day!

The all new PULSAR 200 is just an awesome bike im still crazzy abt the bike which i still await till the 16th of this month..basically waiting for almost a month im finally going to purchase my all new pulsar 200 just because of the smashin features that it includes….IM IMPRESSED WITH THE BAJAJ CO FOR THE AKE OVER O FP200.HATS OFF TO GUYS….

  92. Blaster Says:

Hello Menas, and to all others……. An information about RTR 160

Just try this becas we tested it…… Take your RTR 160 and drive to the speed of 120 kmph. Apply the breaks and just watch your rear raising so much and you will loose your total balance.

This is a big problem as my frends were having a street race. During the end part, there was an accident on the road so my frends have to apply the breaks without any choice. The pulsar guy who raced with my frend RTR 160 fell very badly and got scratches on his whole body including face….. The pulsar bike got damaged mostly , while my frend’s RTR was not damaged badly but he still fell down becas of the RAISING REAR problem……

If you got doubts then you can test it for your own.

Other than that, RTR 160 is good.

    Pulsar sucks.

  93. Blaster Says:

Do you all think a bike without a kick start is modern???? No. Its not. Kicker is always useful during the hard times like for example during the heavy rain your bike stopped little inside the stagnating water….

You cant expect your button start will help all the time…… As the bike gets old, you will know about this problem in the current pulsars 200 and above….

Enjoy this problem if you own one :)

    Hi,
I am Naveen and i have lots of Exp. in Bikes… Prof. i am Automobile engineer, and i have tested more than 1000 bikes and scooters.. If you want to know my point of view so according to me P-200cc is well in campare of any other bike…ok tell me one think you all when you got market to buy a new good bike what you find in your dream bike..first Milage, Second, Looks, thired Cost, and fourth Service ok Am i right.. let me tell you one think that milage is totally depand on Rider ok so if you like to drive fast in local areas the p-200 gives you aprox 40-45 Kmpl is true Its pick up very nice.. Looks there is no doubt… Handling Smooth… and Maintance is not too costly… So According to me you should go with P-200 cc.. Dont wory i am also using P-200 and KZM but I feel relax when i drive _-200

  95. Blaster Says:

Good luck naveen. And all others who own pulsar becas you all must have luck to have a proper working LED for the next few yrs.

As all people know the rear LED has problems in about 1 out of 10.
Engine problems after 3 yrs approximately. No kick start options. and so many….

So again good luck guys. Becas only if u got luck, you can have your pulsar’s :p

Thanks Blaster! i do agree with some of ur views. they are true. regarding the apache, i did hear many times that it give a slight wobble at higher speeds. I did not test it myself though…. so i can be wrong too. Pardon me if i am!
Regarding the braking performances, this is one place where the engineers struggle a lot. let it be they work for honda, tvs or bajaj. There are a lot of things dealing with weight distribution of front-back here. and the designers always tries to reduce the weight. and another main reason is SCIENCE stands against BEAUTY, most of the times, and they contradict each other. so once again, its a tough job for engineers. They have to use science for aerodynamics, weight distribution, making the CG almost center and low, etc… and still leave an Artistic touch in their design. So basically they all are doing a very tough and a good job. My Hats off to them. but some better the others in the race.

regarding the “back-lifting” issue, ….. Always more power is required on the front wheels because, when you initiate braking, the momentum is altered. This transfers 80% of the bikes weight to the front end. Hence, you require stronger force to stop it compared to the back end. This is the reason why manufactures fit front with discs and rears with drum. in sports bikes, back is disc too, but the fronts run on bigger twin discs. And as always, when you brake hard, the back-tyre is on the ende of getting lifted. you can notice this when you watch MotoGP. The rear tyre actually hops from the track when the riders brake hard.

but apart from the size of the disc and the drums, there is one secret ingredient to very efficient braking. while the former helps in stopping the bike,… the latter will help the rider to do it comfortably and not to get thrown away from the bike. Yes you guessed it RIGHT! its the SUSPENSION.
This is where is the UNICORN betters the others. and pulsar will be the last in the queue. The UNICORN suspension’s damping and stiffness is perfect for its power and weight distribution. i felt the pulsar front end is too soft and it ditches very hard the moment you hold them. got almost thrown off the bike many times. While pulsar gives a sweat on my brow, the unicorn gives me the confidence to time the braking even more lately. The front discs of unicorn is very ncie and progressive, but there is a lot of room for improvement in the rear braking power. For the pulsars, brakes are powerfull, but the suspension does not perform in sync with its brakes. Perhaps, it could have been better if the pulsar front suspension is not so SOFT and the back suspesnion is not so STIFF. Its just my opinion after riding the bike a lot of times since its birth.

Hi Blaster! Regarding considering the fact u said about the “absence of kick start” in Bajaj higher end bikes. Its a very strong debate to take part. And i partly agree with you.

    My opinion is that,

“HAVING A SELF-START CAN BE CONSIDERED AS MODERN, BUT NOT HAVING A KICK-START DOES NOT PROVE TO BE MODERN BY ANY MEANS”

the bajaj could still have incorporated a kick start for their bikes. I dont understand wht they want to prove. But with many people calling it as ADVANCED technology and a great darring step ahead, i now clearly understand what the BAJAJ wants to prove. Common, its after all single-cylinder bike!!

The higher end sports bikes not having it is due to other reasons. They dont have it because CRANKING a 4-cylinder or a 6-cylinder is a different story!! Just imagine the effort it would need to kick-start a 250 kg bike with 4 or 6 cylinders? possible? well.. might be yes to basket ball players, but not to common man. Did you ever realize, that most of the MotoGP riders are well below 60 kgs? just imagine how they will kick start? btw, the bikes used in races does not even have a kick-start or a self-start…. they are manually cranked by pushing the bike or by a starter kit.

Wht is the advantage of not having the Kick-start? i am really waiting from the bajaj to hear the answer. Is there so much of a weight reduction and so much of a performannce gain because of it? and is it worth compensating a compromise for not having the kick-start? I doubt the lasting of battery especially with the load they put on it. double horns, backlit switches, extra bright digital speedo, etc.

Well i am confident tht it will work perfectly ok when the bike is new. but with ageing, things will prove on the contrary. If scenarios like minor problems with the self starter, or an unclean spark plug, low fuel after a hibernating period or riching of fuel in cylinder, etc how would this work efficiently? I would desperatly need a kick-start in such occassions. The worst hit would be in the places of hill stations where the cold temperatures are at sub-zero.

But its always good for someone to test it practically. i appreciate bajaj on this. because they have a good role in creating this very competetive market trend.

not only in case of KICK-START. people wrongly feel and beleive that a digital speedo is more modern, and even clip-ons. The fact about clip-ons i have written in my previous comment.

    Regarding Digital Speedo:-
Its certainly not true that a digital speedo is more modern than analog. They are modern and advanced in terms of their accuracy and the ability to measure smaller measureable units. But digitals are obviously not that expensive as you think. The circuitry and chips are cheap… only the LCD is expensive comparatively. But good/average analogs cannot be made cheap. And making an accurate analog is more costlier than digital.

Just look at this… a casio G-SHOCK which has more features is relatively cheap when compared to a swiss chronograph. It is very expensive to make an accurate analog.

If digital was all, then all high-end luxury cars would have been like CIVIC.

    Hope you got my point.

    But once again, i could be completely wrong!! :) :) :) :) :) :)
