New Delhi Railway Station

I went to the New Delhi Railway Station today to pick dad and mom. Was my first time alone. Actually, things were better than I had expected. I found decent parking facilities in ‘VIP Parking’ facility which cost me 50 bucks (IGI Airport parking costs 60 bucks).

Found the platform I wanted to visit easily. Found dad and mom easily. The most surprising part was that I saw a banner claiming that the railway premises were Wi-Fi enabled! And there were no mentions of any charges. So, if you had a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or a PDA, you could have (I believe) surfed the net for free!

Anyone of you ever tested this free service at the railway stations of India?

Where is the "normal" car parking located on the NDLS? I have seen the "VIP Car Parking" but i guess it would be too expensive if i park my car there for 16 hours.

Please help - I would be driving to NDLS from Gurgaon via CP. I would take the morning shatabdi to Agra and get back the same night on Shatabdi itself.

Cheers

Shantanu

Hi guys any idea about .. the parking charges for one day at ndls...go t to catch a train in morning n be back by 11 pm ...let me kno fast guys...

Hi
Actually the reality is that wi-fi works fine in new delhi railway station. The only problem is that the wi-fi antenna used to transmit and receive signals is of a lower range thats why most of us have noticed that we can easily use wi-fi net on platform 1 but at last platform 12 the signals are so weak that it is impossible to connect and surf net.
The settings given at platform 1 near the over bridge stairs are working perfectly fine.Just give it a try at platform 1.
I checked the signals at platform 12 using net stumbler and they are too weak to have a stable connection.

Dear Friends Even i have tried wifi at New Delhi Rly Stn and it works Absolutely perfectly fine... So Please Check the reality before eaccusing our country or Govt.

I hav tried wifi at ndls n it works perfectly fine. Stop accusing the government

New Delhi is the CAPITAL of the country but still lagging behind in technology, its BIG shame. there should be Wi-Fi, wi-Max zones.

It's funny to know railway premises comes in wi-fi zone.

Hmmm. Not surprising. Although I would wonder where they got the sign from. Do they sell those at Nehru Place?
