If you are an Amitabh Bachchan fan, you should probably watch this movie. He is in a total different role in this movie and he performs well. As you would already know, he is playing a character of a family man who falls in love with his daughter’s friend. The ending kinds of surprises you but nothing in the movie is shocking.
Jiah Khan. Duh. I am not sure what Ramu wanted to portray her as. I am pretty confused now that I have seen the movie. I would not like her featured in any more movies.
Aaftab Shivdasani. Makes a cameo appearance. I am not sure what Ramu sees in him. He is a worthless actor. And he still manages to get some decent roles!
Revathi. She performs well as the wife of Mr. Bachchan. But her portrayal of a wife who really could not see what actually was happening in her house is somewhat unbelievable. It is also surprising to see that she was once the heroine of Salman Khan in a movie! I remember seeing another movie with her playing the wife of Nana Patekar.
Rukhsar. Plays the deglamorised role of the daughter of Mr. Bachchan in the movie. Simple role. She does a decent job. Could have given a bigger role. But then the focus was on Amitabh and Jiah.
Movie has been shot pretty brilliantly. But too much focus on the female leading character in the movie is somewhat disappointing. Not really a movie I had like to watch again. Even on television. Should be added to the different offbeat movies.
One thing more. Amitabh Bachchan sings a song for the soundtrack of the movie. However, the song seems to be missing from the movie itself. We just get to hear some of it as the background score. Amitabh does sing a besura song in the movie. And surprisingly, it’s one of the songs featuring Shah Rukh Khan. I could relate this to the recent controversies raised by the media concerning the two stars. But then, the song contains the name of the character Jiah Khan plays in the movie.
you got it right.
