Eklavya: The Royal Guard

Good movie. Could have been better of course. The director needed to develop the characters a bit more. Could have been slightly longer with better described storyline.

Jackie Shroff is getting worse by the day. He is doing so much hamming these days that he can give Shah Rukh Khan some competition.

Amitabh Bachchan is awesome in parts. Though the director made him cry a tad too much. But then he gifted him a Rolls Royce.

Sharmila Tagore was underutilized. But she remains an awesome actress. In the league of Jaya Bachchan.

Sanjay Dutt does a repeat of his character in Thanedaar. Does his job well. One of the best actors of our generation. Should be behind bars, but that is another story.

Saif Ali Khan plays something very close to his life. He lives the character well. He was pretty good with his beard (or shall I say stubble).

Vidya Balan does a fine job. I guess she is becoming the next smooch girl of Bollywood. Every other movie has her smooching the hero!

Raima Sen? Plays what she looks in real life. A nutcase. Jimmy Shergill as usual is wasted. Boman Irani plays the character of a gay impotent king. As usual, he does a good job.

Parikshat Sahni dies in the movie for no logical question. Maybe I missed something coz I was out buying popcorn.

Movie has one song. Thank god for that. It could have been skipped as well. Does not make my life a hell.

I have not ranted much coz it’s a pretty decent movie. Should make some people happy that I for a change like something. Even if it is in bits.
