i love skoda fabia, if this price is around 3 to 5 lakhs. It is very meangfull way for/entry inidan market..it can eat the share pie of the indian auto unit around 30 to 40 percentage. skoda can rule the world and india too…
(fabia is 2000 year model of europe) so price of this skoda fabia car should not be more than 4 lakhs…otherwise it will be sloppy market for them…
there will more than 9 cars (hatch batch type) from various company avilable to us by this year and upto 2010….but if the price of fabia within 3.5 to 5lakhs then i will go for it now…!!! pls pls make it cheaper price for us…

Skoda is a good car, no doubt, and it comes with a certain snob value in India mainly because until now they made cars which had only a super rich category customer base. Though, in spite of this, they are used to giving sloppy service to its customers. Prices of spares are very expensive too as they are imported. Skoda’s customer satisfaction in India is way below most other manufacturers, which in fact makes me think if this is that much an object of desire. Besides, it is sure to come with premuim pricing because its a Skoda. It has pretty much the same interior space as the swift, and the exterior looks similar too.. would it make sense to go for a swift with a Skoda badge for about a lakh more?? I am not sure..

The prcing if above 5 lakhs would be a matter for concern for most Indian car buyers. The customer service for skoda is going to leave people lurching in the midstream. Would it be ok to spend a huge amount only for the snob value of skoda?

I’m sure it’ll be a flop..already we have decent cars from Fiat India and practically no-one buys them bcoz the service is poor, so why wud anyone spend so much extra money only to get dissatisfied services and high cost of maintenance….

I agree with the dog bit! I have a boxer and this crietria of dog-fitting-the-boot forms a very important part of my buy decision… currently, I fold my santro’s back seat when needing to lug my dog. But, it is front seat for the dog, if there are co-passengers(like my wife? :-)! I found u-va to be very useful as it has a 40:60 rear seat split. I hope that fabia also would come with a rear seat split like u-va. If it does, Iam prepared to waive off all other criterions! Except price ofcourse!

Hi,
As per information available on some sites, the cost will be anything but above 5 Lakh.
This is a car with the inteiror space comparable to Aveo U-VA, Getz, and fiat Palio.
But build-quality and technology wise it is much advanced then the car currently available in the market.
It will have features which are normally not available in this category of car. But all that is on a good premium.
So, wait for this car (due in the last quarther of 2007) only if you are ready to spend 5-6 lakh for a car which have almost everything, except the big boot space…..

The Skoda Fabia is going to be miles ahead when it comes to refinement, finishing and functionality. Come on, we are still seeing somebody daring to launch a Logan in this country. The only catch is the need for a green technology in India when it comes to cars. Why can’t Fabia come with a hybrid engine, let the manufacturer make up with a higher price. At least come with a good quality CNG option.

Hi Everyone,
It has been expected for a while but no one knew just when the Skoda Fabia would finally come to India.
Now it seems there’s a definite plan to roll out the famed small car in India by the end of this year.
At the launch of Skoda India’s Jaipur dealership recently, Karsten Bogun, managing director (commercial) of Skoda India announced that the Fabia would be part of Skoda’s new aggression in the Indian market.
The hatchback, if it does come, will be positioned in the premium hot hatch segment alongside models like the Swift, Aveo U-VA and Getz.
The sedan should be attractively priced depending upon the level of localisation that the project manages to achieve. Experts say the price aggression is likely given that the company is targetting sales of around 17,000 units this calendar year which works out to around1500-1600 car per month. So far Skoda has sold 43,000 cars in the last five years.
If the hatch does come, Skoda will likely tinker with the length to meet the small car requirements mandatory for tax rebates in India.
The engine size too should be either 1.2 litre or 1.4 litre to qualify for the lower excise tax. The pricing of the sedan could be around Rs 6-7 lakh while the hatch may hover around the Rs 5-6 lakh range.
However Skoda officials say the pricing has not been fixed and the final tag may well be more or less aggressive depending on the positioning of the vehicle.

skoda india is not a company that you can rely on. they keep on saying they launching fabia from last 2-3 years, yet they not. they are trying to sell the old product and taking full juice out it. i accept that in india skoda has manage to have good brand image, but because of not giving new models in due cource of time , company is not doing well in USA. there this way of doing business in automobile is not good, but in india it not matter , so they keep on draging the old model octavia, launching few highend model does not mean they want a big player in automobile industry. As they are just importing them ,no real manufacturing. so people buy another cars as they are not realiable in launching

It will be launched in the Indian Auto Expo (Jan 2008). The price has been cofirmed as 5.5 to 6.0 lacs. We will have to wait and see what will be the on-road price.

Skoda should not have postponed this launch sooooooooo much specially when the company itself has been releasing plans to launch since 2002 itself. Now however, the pricing will be critical cause if the top end diesel version is priced above 6 Lacs, it may not be able to take out much slice of market share from the Swift VDI which has been consistently recieving good reviews.

I think pricing this car would be very critical for them as they would have a tough rivalry ro get ahead of Swift.

Skoda is likely to be available for test drive and bookings from 27th Dec’07 as per the local dealer at Indore. As per specification sheet provided there will be three varient- Hatchback Classic-1.2MPI/51KW EUIV MT priced at 4.5L, Hatchback Ambiente-1.2MPI/51KW EUIV MT priced at 5.0L & Hatchback Elegance -1.2MPI/51KW EUIV MT priced at 5.5L. Diesel Model 1.4MPI/63KW EUIV MT is expected in same three versions with 1.0L difference in price. Petrol version has fuel economy of 20+ and diesel 28+. With cool features, german technology and skoda’s track record..its is fully loaded with features like Bad roads package, Height adj.passenger seat, tropical package, sunroof, parktronics etc. Be ready..It’s gon’a rock Indian roads soon..delivery in indore is starting on 9th Jan onwards..

I got a call from Skoda dealer at Thane that Skoda Fabia will be available for test drive around 1st Jan
Hopefully car will be priced in 5-6.5L bracket. With cool features, german technology and skoda’s track record, prize of +50k won’t be an issue. I am waiting for skoda to change my existing car..Hope Skoda comes as per expectations & has strong power-milage-looks combination.

Ridiculous price tag for a small car. Looks boxy. May be little more spacious than swift. Interiors are disappointing. Not huge improvement from Swift. Low ground clearance. Combined with poor service network & costly spares of Skoda, Fabia will be a huge flop.

ITS REALLY REALLY OVER PRICED….. and I felt I was driving a tractor… the 3 cylinder makes such a loud noise …. and just for that logo…… one will NOT want to pay 2lkh…… i feel swift is a lot better…. or a FUSION is worth the price…. The back seat comfort is also very disappointing… Felt my dream’s shattered……. sorry Team skoda… Fabia…is sad………………………..

Well I did forget to mention… I sold my previous car before doing a test drive now I’m stranded with no other option…… I feel devastated…….. sad and lost….

i have been waiting only for this..even though cost is more it worth it…higher end version is superb….i love this skoda fabia as my car..

Even though fabia(68ps) is good in looks and luxury, it comparatively less in power with swift diesel(75 ps) and getz CRDi(110ps).so this price tag is too much for this hatch.
