I don’t even call Ritesh Deshmukh an actor! He’s just there bcuz his father is a politician and he gets what he wants. The boy can’t act.
I am not a big SRK fan but I think he acts well. I would say that he, Hritik, and Vivek are far from the world of “sucking”. They are good actors and a few are even good human beings.

Hey folks, wazz with the buzz on Indie movies - is there another hot topic to talk about? I had no idea movies and movie folks errr stars are so huge in India. Well there are in the States too -however me don’t give a rats ass. So whoz Karen Johar…..SRK I’ve hears off, isn’t he the Brad Pitt of Bollywood or something like that? I saw this movie (c’an’t spell it out in Hindi) often sad, often happy or something along those lines - and Indie Brad Pitt was sobbing the while freakin 3 hours, hell everyone was sobbing the whole freakin 3 hours - that led to some very emotional Desi women to let the tears flow as well - and yup you guessed it, we were all frekin drenched!! After that - I haven’t approached an Indie movie. Oooo btw me thinks the woman with H Roshan, his first movie - Amisha Patel is hot and really pretty.

Karen Johar you bring light to all your interviews and draw the best from your guests. Keep it up. The standard of interviewing is vey good and witty. The guests feel much at home Karen you must have brewed your coffee well as the gusts just love it. By the way when we hear about yourself and your life especially your love life. Let us have it as you seem to draw all these things from your guests but you haven’t said anything about yourself. As for you critics-let them be and it is good they criticise for they are take note of you. Bear in mind that if you are not criticised then something is wrong somewhere. Karan Johar is a cheesy director and I pretty much agree with the list of “sucky” actors originally posted.
SRK is a decent actor but he has no substance like Aamir Khan or Sanjay Dutt. Hritik is in also because of his looks, built, and dancing….his acting sucks!
Kareena is also a decent actress but I’ve heard that she’s too proud….but I’ve not really met her so I can’t conclude anything!

karan johar srk and all their bollywood allies are geared toward spreading sexual immorality. majority of movies contains unnecessarily exposing of women’s body. These(bollywood) people claiming to have uplifted women have actually degraded her. they are nothing but sex marketers who only think of themselves their money and their fame and highly irresponsible towards the society. A group of people of society should stand up and speak against this deviant people. AIDS is big threat to the world and many developed countries are suffering from this problem. One big reason for spreading of AIDS is publishing sexual immorality in print, tv and many other forms of media. It is really shame on us(including me) that concious people in this society are not doing enough.

Yes, i Agree not only sanjay dutt is a better actor than shahrukh khan but is a better human being like his late father. “Karan johar” is the worst thing that could happen to india, when other film maker like mani, sanjay bhansali, rajkumar santoshi, nagesh kuknoor etc makes movies that are not only entertaining but also responsible towards our society. These film makers know the impact of their movies on the youth and to the society as a whole and are very sensitive to the subject, but “karan johar” i cant understand the kind of cinema he makes. I think this team of yash, aditya, karan, yash raj banners etc i find them as materialistic people, in a sense that they concentrate their energy in making a hit film rather than doing a creative job which is responsible towards the society what that does is they bring sexual immorality in their movie in the name of promoting hip hop culture which is very harmful to the society. (Go and look the diseases plaguarising western society due to drop in their morality) These people donot understand being modern is not about following the standard set by current society, but being modern is thinking in right perspective to be balanced, to be able to distinguish right from wrong( Go and see oxford dictionary) I just want to request “karan johar” spare my beautiful country from making it corrupt(immorality) so that we are not plaguarised by the diseases as west is suffering now

How can ANY human being watch that Bollywood junk and think there’s anthing good about it. I’ve watched them before and they are basically intolerable.
The WORST Hollywood B-movie is infinitely better. Oh…..the HUGE number of people who do see your movies means nothing. Most of them are third world uneducated people huddled into tents. To many of them, electricity and toilet paper are not a part of everyday life.
When you Bollywood lumps finally get around to making decent movies, the world will respond accordingly by WANTING to watch them.
Until then…….your movies are idiotic to Westerners, and only appeal to uneducated people who’ve never really seen a good movie. Those educated souls who praise the Bollywood movies probably grew up watching them, so they have some cultural appeal. Nothing more.
Actually, there’s nothing wrong with them except I keep hearing people with names spelled like Kajuptbmra saying how superior they are to all others.

I am a white Westerner and I was searching google for Karan Johar and I was lead to this site. Goodness people, stop being so critical of Bollywood! The grass is not always greener on the other side. I am a movie buff, and I can tell you, I am really getting sick of the crap that Hollywood has been putting out recently, and that’s what got me into Bollywood films. Hollywood tries to be too quirky, how different can I be and boy, are those films boring. A typical example of this is “Brokeback Mountain.” Bollywood on the other hand is more focused on entertaining rather than being artsy fartsy. Sharukh Khan, Hritik, Amitabh,Pretty, Kajol are all famous for a reason, they are extremely charismatic. However, I agree that kahbi alvida movie was trying to be more like Hollywood, and that is not a good thing!

Karan Johar is a film maker who knows the language called CINEMA.
But, he thinks too much of his audiences than his inner voice.
KANK is a very bad film because first of all it gives an impression of remake of Silsila.
in Silsila, Abmitabh marries Jaya because she is pregnant and her finace dies in plane crash… this very motive has been cut out in KANK.
why Rani and Shahrukh are in love? if Karan is going to justify by saying that it is a love at first site…then i would say … it is very bad story to tell… there is nothing to tell…
the story happens when normal characters rise above themselves or situation makes them rise above them think of others around them…
so KANK is a story of two selfish commoners… no worth telling others their story… !!!
but…but…Karan knows the language of FILM and in future he would correct his mistakes and will make wonderful films…
only thing is that he would have to choose better story now… he knows how to narrate a story if there is any!…
so i hope that next time he would choose a better STORY!…

i feel bollywood has lots of talented people in it .One need not be uneducated to watch bollywood movies.i am an indian and i am proud of indian cinema.if we have a nagesh kuknoor making realistic movies then we have yash chopra making beautiful movies on love which in my view is the strongest and most sacred emotion.If we have a sanjay leela bhansali making artistic films then we have aditya chopra making romantic as well as action packed movies.if we have a mani ratnum making films on powerful substance then we have david dhavan and priyadarshan making comedy films and tickling our bones.Also i feel actors like aamir khan,amitabh bachchan,srk,anupam kher,hritik,sanjay dutt,paresh rawal,juhi chawla,madhuri,kajol,saif,rani are extremely good actors.we have fantastic music some emotional,disco tracks,romantic….I even like movies like dor,parzania,iqbal and few other realistic once.coming to karan johar,he makes good family entertaining films so whats wrong with that?every director makes movies on the subjects they find interesting to project,some are all rounders of course like farhan akhtar and rakesh roshan.every movie need’nt be realistic and responsible towards society,few can be fantasy based too.i had a good time watching karan johar’s movies except kabhie alvida na kehna.My only sincere advice to him will be not to make a movie like that again and to stick to his charm.

The august 5th episode with Lara and Katrina was highly offensive not to mention racist or in this case regionlist! The whole thing about south indian movies the comments made by both Karan Johar and Lara Dutta only went on to display their spectaculrly narrow minds! When Shilpa Shetty is bullied by the Engish its racist.What would you call it when our countrymen and women our own brothers and sisters do it ?
Lara Dutta made a comment about the Shilpa Chicken Curry issue in the same show! Is there no limit ot thier hypocrisy!! Is she aware of the fact that some of the best in the country in terms of directors, techicans and even actors are from the south. Namely Mani Ratnam, Kamal Hassan, Rajiv Menon, Priyadharshan,Santhosh Sivan, Vikram etc are south indians! And the top most bollywood actresses namely Sri Devi, Hema Malini, Shilpa Shetty, Ishwarya Rai are all south indians!!
Being celebrities and public personalities it wouldn’t harm them to be more resposible and not just sensationalist. The level of hypocrisy they showed was outstanding. I watch Hindi movies and even Koffee with Karan it pains me to see someone in their positions being so narrow minded, petty and stupid. Having super star friends and block busters is not the enough. Decency and a sense of nationality would help too.

Why are you people bashing Karan, Shahrukh, Bollywood, etc.?
Be proud of your film industry and that it is a part of your awesome culture.
I’m from Germany and a huge fan of Bollywood movies since a German TV Channel started showing them three or four years ago. And yes, as with so many others my love for Hindi Films began with one of Karan’s films - Kal Ho Naa Ho.
Especially Shahrukh Khan has won a huge fanbase in our country. he’s definitively the most favourite Bollywood star.
Only a few Germans have a clue who’s Amitabh Bachchan or Zeenat Aman, but everone recognizes SRK.
On the German “Berlinale” there was hysteria over him. So many fans wanted to get a glimpse on him. And with his warmth and charisma he outshined all other celebrities.
He’s an awesome actor and a wonderful human being.
So, be proud of him because it’s due to him that Bollywood gets more and more popular in the western world.
And stop insulting Karan because he’s a great person, too. And his show “Koffee with Karan” rocks.
