Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme?

Hero Honda finally is getting their marketing right. They have this updated version of CBZ coming up and they certainly have me interested in this product.

They need to get it right this time or Bajaj is going to kick their butts.

CBZ Xtreme

Looks like a mashed up version of Ambition and Apache.

hero honda should think of gettin there cbr’s in india..Nyways they have all the options from 200 cc to 1200..and the reglar 150’s that they make isnt powerfull enough(atleast thats wat i think)….so rather drop the idea of another cbz with a lil extra power too the other powerfull machine of the hondas….nyways i prefer the Yamaha ny day over a Honda…

  2. Deepak Says:

All I know is that CBZ rocked & any good upgrade to it will definitely create a storm. The basic design or styling of CBZ is the best….. I hope that this new version improves on it.

  3. Vishal Says:

I think cbz has the best road grip in its class. Its the longest bike and hence the centre of gravity is low for an awesome balance. The extra wide back tyre also helps to this cause. The styling is kool too. Pickup and acceleration is also much better than uncorn or pulsar. The only con that I think it has is its mileage.

If they can come up with a higher CC cbz without decreasing the current kmpl of cbz, then they are gonna really rock the market.

  4. sanju Says:

i am really waiting for a better version of cbz which will offer more power and good mileag.

  5. R J Says:

  7. Swaroop JR Says:

I am really waiting for this new bike. I am very curious about its milleage and power. Eager for its pic. Hope it will be in market next week. I will definatly get one if its mileage is more than 50 !!!!

  8. rohit Says:

i want to see cbz extreme

  9. Varun Says:

1st thing Cbr is of honda not hero honda.. So this does nt have anythin related here.. The bike is a secret.. And u will see it @ 2day be4 diwali only .. Even company is nt gonna release its pic…And its to compete in 150-200cc sector… Still lower than karizma and pulsar 220 but better than pulsar 180 in pickup ., milege is almost same.. Better performance and stability..

  10. prudhvi Says:

  11. Prince Rock$ Says:

Well as the bike doesnt appear in the ads, same way again CBZ Xtreme will disappear from the roads as happened with CBZ,DTS-Fi will hit the roads on the same time.
Technically speakin Hero Honda is not technology sound whr in Rahul Bajaj has blessed Pulsar will everythin which bikers need.

CBZ - this rockstar is without a doubt the pioneer for the pathbreaking pro-biking in india. It is this bike that broke the shackles back in 99 in all the dpartments …may be looks performance stabiliity or anything …i just hope Hero honda come out with a knockout punch because they have a big reputation to defend…this is a call for all those own a CBZ or have evr ridden one or in neways love with the bike and dont own any copycat, silly 150cc moped which evryother guy in the town has and no prizes for guessing which bike am i talking about…get ready folks phoenix is goona rise,,,,yet again…..i hope

  15. Amjad Says:

Its good to know that the guyz at Hero Honda are waking up to launch something different than the run of the mill that they have been indulging in the last few years. Its a fact that Bajaj is closing in on this market leader in sales & performance bikes & is set to soon overtake Hero Honda as the market laeder in 2 wheelers. Hero Honda were bold enuf & the first ones to launch a bike like CBZ which has bought about a revolution in the biking segment in India. Every other bike seemed like a failed copy until Bajaj came up with the Bajaj DTSi & DTS-Fi. I am a proud owner of the CBZ myself & have made several subtle but important changes to my bike for better performance. I am worried though that what if the CBZ Extreme turns out to be a little but nothing different from the Karizma!!! Also when we are dicussing quality bikes here, where does the question of fuel/mileage arise. I think that most asian countries simply put mileage above everything else. They want a bigger, more powerful bike which has a fuel consumption comparable to that of a moped. Unless such thinking is got rid off, its difficult to expect powerfull or Twin cylinder bikes for that matter. I am waiting for a twin cylinder bike & will buy the first one to be launched in India, no matter what the price. Enough of playing around with single cylinders which for me now are nothing short of mopeds. I have heard rumors from inside sources at Hero Honda that they are indeed working on a 2 cylinder model on the lines of the Karizma, so keeping my fingers crossed for the same. In fact i think i saw the 2 cylinder Karizma while being test ridden on Indian roads & may soon get to test ride one!!! Keep watching this space for more information!!!

  16. Vikram Says:

I absolutely agree with you Amjad.
I don’t know about guys above… but I’m not really happy here about 200cc remake of CBZ.
Bike makers like Hero Honda and Bajaj should understand the difference between a field worker and a biker. I appreciate their concern for field workers and making fuel efficient bikes like CD-DAWN and CT100 with best mileage overall …BUT WHAT ABOUT BIKERS???
We all know that any bike less than 600 cubic centimeters of power is not a super bike. You tell me… If the most stupid automobile maker (Suzuki) in the world can make bikes like Hayabusa with power of 1300cc, why our much better bike manufacturers cannot?
India has people who can throw huge amount of money on anything worth.
So, desh ki dhadkan Hero Honda and humara Bajaj … please think again and come up with some powerful machines rather then remaking 150cc to 200cc bikes for school kids.

  17. TULUVA Says:

Either Suzuki or TVS Apache nor Hero Honda are not technically developed compared Bajaj people. Bajaj people are trying to improve and to get new technology engine and design by all the way. I have KB125 and my brother CBZ. I running from 9+years and its still running fine. My brother CBZ from 5+ having lot of problem like problem in switches, power cables, battery and finally we got problem in engine too. But my KB125 is running without any engine problem and cables from 9+years. My KB125 convered 75000+ where CBZ covered 35000+. We maintain showroom condition. Now my brother planning to change to PULSAR 180 new look or 220. BAJAJ and TATA are PROUD to INDIA. what you say?

  18. Kevin Says:

CBZ was the 1st best looking bike to hit the roads and till date continues to turn heads…….But its prime was untill the rise of the pulsar. My m8 has a CBZ and had a lot of troubles with it……i’ve got a P180. I dont think anything is comparable to it in terms of looks. Its the best thing on indian roads…..But the new commercials of the CBZ Xtreme look promising….funny ididnt read anything bout it in any auto magazine..

  19. Manoj Says:

    hi guys,
i too have cbz for the past 5 yrs. No other bike is better than cbz performance. the only prob was millege. iam eagerly waiting for better millege in the new cbz xtreme. if it so… cbz rules the indian roads once again….

  20. sandeep Says:

  21. Sukant Says:

hey Amjad u told bout a twin cylinder bike by hero honda its true its name is Hero Honda Zinger and its 350cc and they r still working on it

  22. vinit Says:

any ways guyz cbz is cbz no other bike can beat it

  23. Appu Balachandran Says:

CBZ was a pathbreaking product in manyways. It sported an awesome powertrain n had gr8 looks.I feel really sorry tht hero honda ignored this bike for such a long time.People might blame cbz for its high price n low fuel efficiency. But the bike is a legend. I am sure tht it could beat the pulsar 150 anytime anywhere. And i believe HH was stupid enough to come up with achiever and ambition…former lost marks in looks and the later….u know…..just sucked. Now it is the chance of HH to come up and defend its position with the CBZ xtreme. I expect it to be strategically placed…u know between 150 and 180.Let us hope that HH doesnt disappoint us. See u soon CBZX………………….

  24. Bharath1 Says:

Guys chillax!!! and relax….lot of people are dreaming tooooo much about this new CBZ….its a degraded version of CBZ and HH has screwed whatever is left over for teh legend called CBZ with CBZ xtreme!!! Its not what all people are talking about -v-twins, above 200cc etc…its 157 cc and 13.2 BHP!!!thats it

  25. Ricky Says:

Hi Everybody … I am really excited over the fact that a real good one like CBZ Xtreme is around the corner … I am part of few Biker groups and personally own 6 Bikes , including a CBZ of 2001 … My small list of Bikes include the following :-
    Yamaha RD 350 of 1988 ,
    Yamaha RX 100 of 1996 ,
Hero Honda CBZ of 2001 ,
    Yamaha FZR Fazer of 2004 (Imported & Second-Hand) ,
    Bajaj Avenger of 2005 ,
    TVS Apache of 2006 …
So , I have made my hands dirty over quite a few Bikes & I use to scrutinize the better & worse part of every other Bikes released …
To be very frank I choose every other Bike very keenly before deciding on it … So , when I saw CBZ for the first time , I did not buy it in the very first instant , but once I rode it in a Highway for the first time , I was in Love with CBZ … CBZ definitely had handsome styling for any Indian bike & I still find it as the best looking Indian bike (except Karizma and Comet) … Then comes the beautiful balance of CBZ over the corners , thanks to a beautiful chasis and even more impressive Engine placement … Then there was the blasting pace for a four Stroke for the First Time , which still other four stroke could hardly match …
The CBZ a legend in itself , poorly mishandled by Hero Honda had a brilliant blend of Instant Pick-up and Smoothness …
Many people may wonder that why I have not owned any Pulsar ever ???
With all those technical defects about Pulsar , may be I shall discuss you later … For the time being I can share you only this much that I have now left beating that poor Bike (both 150 & 180) with my CBZ , and these days I beat that with my Apache …
So , I guess CBZ Xtreme can once again bring that old flavour back with its full brilliance … So , guys lets wait for one hell of a Ride …

  26. Ricky Says:

On the Contrary to both you guys ‘Tuluva’ and ‘PrinceRocks’ , I can definitely argue that A Pulsar DTSi will definitely lose to CBZ on every other day on all respects except Mileage …
I myself did these feats a lot …
    CBZ will beat the 180 in instant pick-up , smoothness & safety , road-grip , cornering , looks , balance & Ride quality …
    CBZ will beat the 150 in instant pick-up , top speed , smoothness & safety , cornering , looks , road-grip , balance & Ride quality …
To be very frank Pulsar 180 DTSi can beat CBZ in top speed , that too in a straight … And CBZ is just a better in Mileage than 180 …
But sorry for you Pulsar lovers , your ‘Definitely Male’ bike encounters accident every other day , and that is NO Coincidence …
The awkward balance , ride-position , poor engine refinement , bad weight distribution and severe problem with Accelerator wires and equally pathetic braking arrangement coupled with bad Balance , lead to Pulsar’s Accidents every other day …
Still people buy Pulsar as Bajaj maintained its Superb marketing strategy , coupled with Pulsar’s decent mileage and an Initial surge in the Engine which leads to a nervous Adrenaline rush … Also there is a Quality looks , a low priced after market parts , and beautiful Service support …
But let me tell you a fact that , unless the Rider is 40 years old Government Clerk , no Pulsar engine can retain Composure after 2 years of use …
Here the CBZ again wins Handsomely … Although looking like a ‘Sport Model’ infront of its ‘Definitely Male’ counterparts , CBZ is also a definitely Machoman , as its Engine can handle a lot more pressure and lot more Strain … So Guys , tough luck … Pulsar can be popular among newbies in Bikes with a little Young & inexperienced Mind , but anyone who knows both of these bikes well , will definitely go for CBZ even with eyes Closed … So , all the best for your DTSFi , lets see whether it is a rectified one or not , but whether you admit it or not CBZ Xtreme is going to ROCK …

  27. SANDEEP SINGH DEVRA Says:

I AM WAITING FOR NEW STYLISH CBZ

  28. Amjad Says:

Many of us will remember the Hero Honda CBZ as probably the bike that was a bit ahead of its times. It had the unmistakable mark of Hero Honda writ all over it — reliable, well made and relatively fuel-efficient.

But it was ahead of its times, as its design, build quality and its poorer fuel efficiency, compared to Hero Honda’s hot selling economy model the Splendor, must have all been negative factors as far as prospective buyers of that time were concerned.

Now, after the launch and modest success of the Glamour and Achiever, Hero Honda’s acceptance amongst the now burgeoning 150cc segment buyers has definitely improved. With increased buyer expectations in the executive segment of the bike market, both in the engine and build quality parameters, Hero Honda would obviously want to attempt capturing a larger share of this pie.

And so, the CBZ it seems is set for a second coming. After having been a loner at the top and then having been edged out of the market by freshers (then) — like the Bajaj Pulsar, the Honda Unicorn and more recently the TVS Apache — the CBZ will again hit the road.

Market rumour has it that Hero Honda has completely revamped, redesigned and re-engineered the old CBZ, so much so that it just could been renamed too as an all-new bike.

But the CBZ brand has good recall amongst prospective bike buyers in the segment and so Hero Honda seems to have decided to retain this name. As a result, what will soon roll out nationally is the new CBZ Executive, a more modern looking and performing 150cc plus segment bike, that sports an all new engine and chassis.

After the original was launched first in 1999, the CBZ was put through a marginal and ineffective cosmetic redesign exercise a couple of years ago. But the CBZ Starstill couldn’t help it post more volumes on Hero Honda’s sales charts. The new CBZ Extreme may be able to do better than that.

However, Hero Honda will still have to work on the bike buyer’s mind space to move away from being identified as only a manufacturer of economy bikes. At least, the company will have a strong brand in CBZ working for it.

The old CBZ is off the company’s Web site too, it will be replaced soon by the new model. Wait for it.

IS THIS THE WAKE UP CALL FOR HERO HONDA TO LAUNCH ITS NEW BIKE?

BAJAJ CLOSES IN ON HERO HONDA
The battelines are drawn between the two rivals in the two wheeler segment this festive season. Bajaj Auto, which has been inching closer to the numero-uno position in the last few months is now at a sniffing distance from arch rival Hero Honda.

CAN BAJAJ OVERTAKE HERO HONDA IN 2007?
Only 28,000 units separated them in August as Bajaj judged the pulse of the market better than Hero Honda
Will India see a new leader in the two wheeler market in 2007? Will Hero Honda, the market leader for over a decade and a half, finally have to give way to Bajaj Auto? These are the some of the questions facing the industry as the battle lines for supremacy in the two-wheeler market are being drawn right now.

  30. Ricky Says:

That’s a really nice Coment Amjad … It seems that you also have studied a little about Market & Bikes … What Bike do you own ???

I really agree with your points except a very subtle point , that CBZ was never beaten by the other Bikes , rather CBZ was let down by its own Mentors … May be they were too much keen over their launch of Karizma … It was also a let down due to its faults similar to Pulsar family only … But Pulsar went on , being a quite cheaper offer …

Anyways I liked your attitude towards Bikes … May be someday we could Race … What do you think ??? May be we can race with these CBZ Xtreme only …

  34. Ricky Says:

Chill Vishnu , still no Pictures of CBZ Xtreme is available there … But I have a contact inside who gave me a rough Idea over its looks …

You can’t expect it to look like a CBR , its a CBZ ; cummon … Its looks are refined no doubt … It has got itself covered a little more …
The best part is obviously its awesomely beautiful Curved body which every other Bike in Indian Market failed to imitate (Even Ambition miserably tried to copy CBZ chasis but failed) …

The Rider’s Seat is a little downwards compared to the previous models , which intensifies it’s Sporty Appeal … And as far I have heard its Blazingly Fast … much faster than karizma … The reason behind this is , despite being less in Engine Capacity it is a Lighter one too ; aggravating a brilliant ower to weight Ratio for any Indian Bike …

And one more thing for those Fuel efficiency Freaks … It has a Standard Mileage of about 48 Km/Ltr in Test Conditions with multiple gear Shifts …

So you can expect a real world Mileage of about 40-42 Km/Ltr …

ALL ABOUT CBZ EXTREME FROM THE HORSES MOUTH, INFORMATION YOU ALL HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!! ITS 150CC ONLY???

Hero Honda has launched a premium 150 cc bike called CBZ Extreme. Pawan Munjal MD & CEO of the company says it is the reincarnation of CBZ in a new avatar. Describing it he says, it is all about power, acceleration and style.

Excerpts from CNBC-TV18’s exclusive interview with Pawan Munjal:

Q: Is the CBZ Extreme just the older CBZ in newer clothes?

A: I would actually call it the reincarnation of CBZ in a new avatar. We’ve re-christened it as CBZ Extreme.

Q: Tell us more about your product. Also, going ahead you have promised a few more launches that will be coming in this fiscal so. Give us a picture on how things will fall in the coming months.

A: Let me talk about the CBZ Extreme. It’s the best in class combination of power, styling, acceleration and fuel efficiency. And in the power and style segment, we are going to give the customer what he has been waiting for a long time. Our earlier offering, the ‘Achiever’ in the same segment, the 150 cc engine, is more for a power and utility kind of customer. But here, it is power, acceleration and style. It is making a statement and all of this, along with very good fuel efficiency.

Q: Do we see more launches coming in this particular or the previous segment?

A: As I said earlier, I would rather talk about the CBZ Extreme today. Of course, we have the other launches as I had promised. Eight launches in this year, but you just have to please wait for the right time.

ALL HOPES OF A HIGHER CC DASHED???

  36. piyush varshney Says:

oh i love cbz , i can do any thing for cbz, its a pleasure to b the owner of cbz, its most hotest and unique in market

  37. Amjad Says:

SO ITS A DAMP SQUIB AFER ALL WITH THE CBZ EXTREME???!!!
Just as i thot, along with the engine similarities to Unicorn & Fuel injection witha little more power and maybe monoshock, nothing more can be expected from the CBZ Extreme. A total number of 8 models to be launched by this year end. Lets hope for the best.
    WHAT A LET DOWN???!!!

  38. Amjad Says:

Hero Honda today launched an all-new model of its 150-cc motorcycle CBZ, pricing the base variant at Rs 54,500 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The company said it would follow the new ‘CBZ X-treme’ with another offering in the premium segment that could be out somewhere next fiscal.

“We expect to capture the top position in the premium segment with the new bike. We are also working on another bike in the premium segment,” Pawan Munjal, managing director said.

The company said that the premium bike market, comprising of 150-cc and above models, was around 6,00,000 units or 10% of the total motorcycle market.

The new model has been jointly developed by teams from Japan’s Honda and Hero Honda.

Hero Honda also plans to launch six new bikes this fiscal.

  39. dj ajay Says:

  40. Amjad Says:

Some features of CBZ Xtreme include LED tail light and Split Rear Grip (first time on any two-wheeler in India), great pickup at 0-60 kmph in five seconds, 3-year/40,000 kms warranty, pilot lamps above the head light, integrated tail light and winkers with the visor, black alloy wheels, among others.

The bike will be available in five colours including the new metallic blue and sports red, besides candy blazing red, black and silver.

  41. Amjad Says:

    CBZ Xtreme.
Have seen the Xtreme. Looks like a cross between CBZ & Ambition & Apache with the Ambition type of Tank, indicators fused into the front fairing, Wide rear side, silver colored mirrors, black mag wheels, extra light above the headlight. Will keep you guys posted with more info…..

  42. angad singh Says:

hehe, ill be test driving this super soon (dad’s a hero honda dealer), and im gonna be one of the first to buy it!!!

  43. Vikram Says:

Hey Amjad, is this actual picture of new CBZ Xtreme posted above?
I own a Royal Enfield Thunderbird (2005, Black-Silver) which I bought around a year ago. It’s the best bike of all I have ridden after coming to India, but it’s too heavy to move around in city traffic conditions …it’s only good for long distances or highways. I want to buy a new bike with comfortable and light weight ride in city as well as on highway. What’s your suggestion?

  44. Fly Says:

Ricky, quit bullshitting. I bought my Pulsar 180 back in 2002 and its been running well ever since. I’ve had very few problems with it, i’ve ridden it hard, going all the way to the redline@ 9000rpm regularly. The CBZ was not able to match the Pulsar in performance and appearance, and lost its appeal after only 3 years on the market. In contrast, the Pulsars both 150 and 180 have been good performers in all respects.
Bajaj have also built the Pulsar brand up quite admirably, updating the bike every so often, and so it is now approaching its 6th year on the market, and still whipping all the opposition. A good number of 150cc bikes from TVS, Hero Honda, LML, etc have all come and gone, having failed miserably in trying to usurp the Pulsars. Bajaj have translated their success in the premium bike segment to their lower level bike as well meaning greater market share in the entire motorbike arena.
The CBZ extreme has not brought anything new to the scene, and is unlikely to have much effect on the Pulsar’s dominance. Even as Hero Honda try to rekindle old glories, Bajaj are bringing in a new range of Pulsars, laden with technology. As it stands (including the CBZ xtreme) , the Bajaj stable is rock solid.

  45. Sidharth SAddi Says:

doesnt look too good. y arent there any goddamn performers???
wat is this crap abt milage!
yamaha ought to be ashamed of itself. after the rd350 adn the old non-catalytic converter rx135, even they have churned out shity bikes….

m seriously disappointed with the make n design … it sucks from all angles !! luks more like an ambition .. it aint gonna do any gud!! pulsar dtsi certainly is far ahead when compared to this disappointment n to make things even worse for hero honda is the launch of pulsar dtsfi very soon!!
in short , may god help hero honda !! luckily they got karisma up der sleeves!

  47. Chetan Says:

It`s good taht hh is launching cbz xtreme. But did u noticed that the looks r not that similar to thge old cbz.
Guys the old CBZ rocks n the hh hv lost all the respect of CBZ which they had earlier.
But bajaj hitting their dtsfi soon lets hope that cbz will stay in market 4 long time.

  48. kapil zutshi Says:

Hero Honda has proven performance, no doubt about cbzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, desperately waiting to purchase this zoom machine.

  49. Anni Says:

Seems a good bike but 150 cc is not good enough to ride for 40 km at a stretch at a speed of 80Kmph.

  50. r-zayn Says:

    it’s pure dhoti bike…..u mean that….
    go n make some….
cbz stars are good n they lokk great….
plz don’t launch it on the market….

  51. Maltesh Ashrit Says:

    Boy, this is really worse..
the side mirrors, being derived frm scooty pep,
    the faring isnt attractive,
the back part is no way good,
n the tank, i think they cud have got a new one rather dan the same old karizma,

    sorry HH guys.
    this aint a show stopper.

This looks like a mixture of ambition, apache, n Karizma.

Please launch some decent bikes guys, dont make it look compaable to oder,

launch one like apache, uniquely different

  52. Kishor Says:

Hi, when i heard about the new CBZ, i was so much excited. But Today looking at the model and the overall design of the bike, i got totally dispointed. Most of the part of this bike are adopted fron Karizma like mags, disc brake, mud gaurd etc, the fule tank, mirrors and the base paint of the bike is mostly like to the glamour. And the graphics and the name of the bike is printed in the same fassion of that Ambition(the BIG name of CBZ on the fule tank) . So overall, there’s nothing NEW in this bike, that i was expected!

  53. dnyanesh Says:

woooowww,That’s a right Byke for me.

  54. Sanath Says:

Picture of the new CBZ extreme is there in todays deccan herald Bangalore edition, the first impression i get is that it looks like the apache with a few adittionals like pilot lamps above head light the integrated tail light and winker in the visor. black alloys as the Apache. It got split rear grip but i dont know what that is. 0-60 in 5 sec

Munjal Bhai yeah apne kya kar dala :-(

  55. Ankur Says:

    wel…….if i say……it’s a blend……no….the xact thing is…….
“COPIED….4m UNICORN”……with only a few changes made…..like the inverted tel susp….at rear………rear view mirrors as some one has written copied 4m scooty pep………bad vizer dzine……..not even close to the old CBZ……coz in my opinion the person who would have d’zined the previous CBZ’s vizer….wouldn’t have done such god job in his entire career…lol
jokes apart this bike is the worst entry 4 the side of honda………as we all know todays yuoth has many options n the new entry of bajaj pulsar will b rocking……
i’d say this version of CBZ is not even close to the existing TVS Suzuki 150 segment bike(which i think is a fine d’zine after pulsar 180 )……….

rest assured people tht this bike’s a big flop………..

  56. Rishabh Dev Says:

I am dissapointed … nothing exciting… yet another 150 cc types… this definitely aint cbz … call it something else please.

  57. praveen Says:

    hi guyz…..
could any one inform me abt the prize of CBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ?????

  58. Ranjeet Says:

my dreams are crashed… very very bad looks….its look like mixed vegetable dish.

  59. dhrooomm Says:

as far as i am concerned new cbz looks very sexy. but it can be more loaded if company has provided rear disk brakes and a fuel tank should be more pepy it looks like ordinary due to that stuff. over all new cbz will rock the world (india)
as the engine is much better then pulsar and apache in its segment..

  60. rajeev Vidhani Says:

front mask isnt appelaing at all looks like copy work

  61. Deepak Says:

It’s really nice stuff launched by hero honda….

  62. Rahul Says:

Xtreme… is the word.. but looks like they hv meshed up all their bike to make a new one.. its high time the CBR serise hit the Indian Market… dont know how it will be on performace.. but looks dint impress me at all .. i dont know why hero honda is stuck on ambition tank.. they should try to come up with something new for a change… anyways hope this gives some good competion to pulsar and apache… all the best…

  63. bharath,ganapahi,senthil,rajkumar Says:

This design does`nt look that good & stylish as older version of cbz. we expected a lot change in honda but it sucks.

  64. nikhil Says:

it looks good but they should do some thing abotu this annoying xhaust

  65. vaidant arora Says:

i am not that much satsfied with new cbz i have benn waiting for too long for cbz but i think i must have bought some other earlier old cbz was really mind blowing and that too with alloys really meant something too me but i have waited for about 3-4 months for a new bike but i didnt got that productive result but still waiting for it to be on road then i ll decide so guys wait for it on road may this swing your mind and wait for the new unicorn with alloys and more other on the way so be patience

  66. gautham Says:

    hi
hero honda should start tihnking more powerfully than 150cc n 225cc

  67. vishnu kanth Says:

i am satisfied with this model because it cost very cheep only Rs 56.000 .with 180 cc a superb model

  68. Amjad Says:

    Hi Vikram,

This is a Xtreme letdown from Hero Honda. Not at all what everyone was expecting. The Pulsar DTSFi is years ahead from the CBZ Xtreme. Even the Unicorn is far much better looking than this mix-n-match package. Atleast the Unicorn had a rear monoshock & tuff up tube tyres which no Indian bike have till date. Apache won a string of awards when it was launched and was diffrent indeed. Nothing new from HH with this new offering. All we can do now is to wait and watch for the remaining offering from Hero Honda, Bajaj and Honda (HMSI). I would prefer to wait and watch for a few more months. My ideal bike would be the one with following basic features:
    Atleast 250cc, 2 cylinder, V-Twin preferable.
Water cooled or atleast an oil cooler.
    CV carbs / fuel injection.
    Monoshock rear suspension.
    Inverted fork front suspension.
Disk barkes on front & rear.
    Magnesuim Alloy wheels(The real thing).
    Light weight tubeless tyres.
    LED tail light & indicators.
Wonder why no manufacturer wants to come out with such features. All we can do is hope for the best. As of now the Pulsar DTSFi or the Apache is the best option for those who are in a hurry to purchase a new set of wheels.

  69. jc Says:

is that the bike that we were waiting for all these while??? God!!! I was expecting a good styling this time round… first impression is.. LOOKS are really bad… more like Apache body and pulsar front… May be the pricing and the cc are good.. but looks do matter… Always wanted to buy a CBZ when i was young and now that i have the money was waiting for the xtreme… but they have let me down if this is the bike…

  70. rabi Says:

…….it seems like apache…photocopy of apache….worst bike i had ever seen…..i want to suggest hero honda company that dont copy the model of other bikes…i think u have put the cbz strickers on apache bike…soo make it urss…own…..i xxalways looks to buy cbz ….this is dam bad……can hero honda company make the modified cbz bikes for international…..

  71. YOGESH Says:

    plz. send me catalouge

  72. RONY ROHAN Says:

AWESOME COOL BIKE BUT SILENCER IS NOT THAT COOL AS OF CBZ BEFORE…………BUT COOL AWESOME ENOGH ……LET SEE A NEW ONE
CAN GIVE OLD CBZ COMPETITION BUT NEW CBZ IS NOT GOOD AS OLD ONE ITS COMBI OF KARIZMA,APACHE, AND PULSAR NEW MODEL…..COOL INDICATOR I SHOULD SAY…….CHEERS FOR NEW CBZ…..LETS HOPE BEST FOR COMPANY SALE……..ASTANAVISTA

  73. mohib Says:

goood bike but not sexy as earlier cbz

  74. rohan Says:

total bakwas hero honda should relaunch its old cbz wid improved mileage

  75. Vikram Says:

    Thanks Amjad!
I guess you are right… we should wait for a while instead of making any mistake in hurry. Let’s hope for the best from both Hero Honda and Bajaj.

  76. kiran Says:

I was awaiting for the new model HERO HONDA CBZ .As soon as i got a glance on this model my dreams got smashed. I think hw this HH designer’s got worst thinking of changing the old CBZ model ….. kindly plz release the CBZ star again…

  77. Akash Says:

    LoL !!!
Ricky did you do any kinda research before passin on these comments. I own a CBZ and pulsar 180 (old) 2002 and guess what the pulsar whips the CBZs ass with alsolute ease. Now u say the CBZ beats the pulsar in pick-up hell no Road Grip both are equal, smoothness and safety i dont see how a CBZ is “safer” cos the pulsar brakes better !! Looks its upto you completely some find an Rd prettier than a CBZ so no issues there, balance and ride quality pulsar is ahead by just an inch. Now Handling is ONE area where the CBZ rocks its just handles like a miracle. But try riding a pulsar 180 and you will neva go back to a CBZ

These is something called riding pleasure this is where the pulsar rocks. Now try dragging the CBZ from 80-100 n its sucks while the pulsar cruises with minimum effort.

Have you ever tried reading any tests or shootouts between pulsar CBZ and even fiero for that matter. the pulsar 150 (let alone 180) beat the CBZ comprehensively and at times even the Fiero joined the CBZ bashing.

Ok agreed the CBZ is legend but the guys at HH screwed it up bigtime. They had an amazing product for its time and instead of updating and correcting its flaws they kept on selling the same stuff for years until the Legend CBZ was being foulmouthed by critics not a good death for a bike of its class but only HH is to blame. The pulsar on the other hand had some flaws in the gearbox and economy but they constantly updated their bike i guess the bike has gone some 5 makeovers in its 5 years in the market (Pulsar Old, Pulsar Dtsi, Dtsi alloy, Dtsi black 180, dtsFi 220). while the CBZ came up with (CBZ old, Cbz with some wierd colours, Cbz Xtreme)

Comon guys ( HH ) you can do a much better job. After you are the WORLDS NUMBER 1 BIKE MANUFACTURER

  78. Roy Says:

Hi Tuluva, there is difference, because KB125 is an old TWO STROKE :D
Dont blame Honda, they are the best. Even after many years, you can get it fresh with a service, but not the same with bajaj:you will have to dump it.

    # TULUVA Says:
    October 8th, 2006 at 08:42 am

  79. Abhishek Says:

Guys ur ad’s ” You Blinked ” really do create a hpye ….
but believe me the day i got to know it’s just 150 CC. i had lost all intrest ..
i am more happy with the old version of CBZ that was 156 CC, and my bike with 156 CC rocks …

  80. Sanju Nair Says:

This bike is not bad…. it is disappointing because we all expected something above or in the range of 180cc atleast with all their super ads….

Is it true what some guys have mentioned here, is HH planning to launch a improved Zma? Or will it be a super-hype like CBZ-X?

  81. ajit Says:

CBZ is CBZ, nothing could reach the level of the same Bike

  82. Prashant Says:

I think the people who are talking abt Yamaha & TVS’s haven’t yet tried CBZ. The comfort & smooth ride that a CBZ offers can’t be given by any other bike & this is some more improved than what they gave us earlier. I have no doubts that EXTREME is going to rule the roads within months. Just theyshould not forget their basic motive of Economy & if Extreme can give us that too…..than all other bikes beware……..

  83. Birumanand Says:

The upgraded version looks nice, I guess they have wasted a lot of time in RnD. RnD becomes a flop when the product is not released on time. This is one good example. Bajaj, TVS and Yahama are planning for 200+cc bikes, here is a bike with 150 cc, a modified version of CBZ. I would still stick with CBZ for its pickup and massive looks, which pulsar can alone match with. I thought Hero Honda learnt their lesson be releasing Acheiver and Ambition. Its a mixture of all the Hero Honda products, 100 % copy and 0% original.

Doom - mix of Karizma (Indicator style) and ambition rest.
    Pertol Tank - Ambition
    Seating - Karizma
    Tail - Karizma
    Exhaust - Unicorn
    Wheels - Pulsar and Apache.

I can give a free tip for Hero Honda - “Release the same version of Karizma with 150 CC engine”.

  84. mahender Says:

cbz is very nice in 150 cc segment
i think the new cbz-x treme will rock the market.

  85. Sumeet Says:

damn.. this bike sucks big time man…. always wanted to buy a cbz… but by the time i decided to buy a new bike it was discontinued… still i waited hopin HH wud bring it back… well they had to.. considerin the newer bikes.. glamour n the other bike.. dont rem the name… were not doin gud… n now… after waitin all this time.. wht they bring in is this shit… apache looks.. ambition tank… stupid fairin… cmmon give us a break… totally disappointed… it wud hv been much better if the old cbz was relaunched wid little tweaks in engine etc….

i guess pulsar is the only option now…

  86. Vishal Says:

Disappointed. one advice to HH: relauch the basic CBZ with improved mileage rather than making a mixture of apache, karizma, ambition n GOD knows which component has been copied from which bike, nothing original seems to b coming into HH designers mind.
Wat the hell is hh doing. they have come up after a long epoch n then with this one. i already own a CBZ n had thought to get the new asap bt all dreams shattered n now wait n watch….. 4 the next launch

  87. zach Says:

was expecting a big’en but out comes this 150 thing….dun look enticing at all… and what’s with them coloured rear view mirror casings dude??

  88. RAHUL RAJU Says:

CBZ IS THE BIKE . I M WAITING FOR THE NEW ONE..KINDLY GIVE ME THE SPESIFICATION AND DETAILS

  89. RAHUL RAJU Says:

    what abt the milege ?

  90. RAHUL RAJU Says:

    plz sent me the cataloge

    rahulraju99@gmail.com
    rahulraju99@rediffmail.com

  91. Rajendra Sagar Says:

Guys, I was waiting for new CBZ for so long and today at its launch got to see its one pic. The bike is a big time shock to me and Im really feeling down today. I can not believe that same people who created a fantastic looking bike like CBZ can turn that lovely m/c into such an ugly looking bike like CBZ - X. What was the need for HH to change the original fuel tank design, now it looks like of achiever’s etc.The whole bike actually looks a mix of so many other bikes.
On the performance front also as I dont think its going to offer any thing ecxiting becasue of it same 150 CC power plant.
From new CBZ my expectations were a larger and extremely powerful engine and rear disc brakes.
In the end they have really messed up everything.
    God bless HH.

  92. thomas Says:

    ONLY COPY WORK

NO MORE MODIFICATIN FROM HERO HONDA

    HH’S BRAND IMAGE WILL DOWN

BETTER TO SELECT PULSAR 150>>>WILL GET 60 KM/H

  93. rajan Says:

    damn jhur bike
    atti khate
ke ho yasto jhur patas bike
    ke ho yasto jhur dekhini
na kehi standard cha na ta appearance cha
kun chai babaal fokatlal le banako

talae vaat maara ab yesto bike banaes vane maile jaanya chhu.
    Zuruch…. N’ …. Abruch

  94. vishal Says:

was expecting agood bike this time from hero honda.Claim to be the largest manufacturer, were is the quality, gone to the dogs. They have all the facilities and the infra. to build a good bike something like RD350 something away from the league.May be they got scared from theBMW experience(your fault ,not advertised properly and priced to high) and one more thing all the money is not only in the metros there are people living in rest of india also .I think they will be the actual good users of high end bikes with good less conjusted roads.
    give it a thought,
    a serious thought,
    or u will loose,
Yamaha is comming with 200cc soon
    so get ready
you have enough 100 s,125 s, and 150 s in the market to earn your profits
Tvs has also given u a run for ur money.

  95. Anil Says:

What ever you people will say, but new CBZ is not as good as the old CBZ, actuality you find the Hero HONDA should had modified the old CBZ, they could have just need to improve the last addition like improve lighting Mack wheels that’s all.
I think Hero Honda cannot make CBZ or CBZ star again now they do copy pest edition in biking.
One thing you have to accept CBZ is CBZ I stayed outside the country for almost 1year I had drive various bike there, but my heart lies there in India because owe CBZ here the most beautiful two wheeler in his class but now new CBZ extreme is destroying the test of CBZ.(both look wise n efficiency wise)

  96. Md waseem Akhtar Says:

    I really love it

  97. Denzil Says:

I was waiting for CBZ xtreme from long….. but HH did not satisfy me to the fullest……….. HH is the best in maintainence and long running engine… but it has copied Apache and pulsar.. not Impresive.. just looking for its milage whether that satisfies me. If not the HH again launches a complete flop.

I am looking to buy a bike this Dec… was looking forward to CBZ for more power than 150. CBZ X has made me think again on its buy.

  98. sachin Ram Says:

    i already own a cbz……….
    thats already rocking …………..
and i am waiting for this toooooooooooo..they will be launching it better(
CBZ EXTREME) than the best(CBZ)…it will be hmmmmmmm………. no words express..These PULSAR APACHE is nothing in front of THE ONE AND ONLY CBZ

  99. abu khan bin charpate Says:

the cbz xtreme doesnt seems to be good …….. as the public was expecting but still we people hope that in future hero honda will come up with great bikes like cbz and karuzmaaaaa……………………… all the best to hero honda from all youngsters………………….. !!!!!!!!

  100. vaishag Says:

Well CBZ was a good bike. But one thing is not understandable,,,ie. when they can design a good bike as CBZ, then why do they need to copy. Xtreme seems like the clone of Achiever n Apache, n it was found that HH is claiming that they have brought LED tail lamp technology in India which is a lie. BAJAJ PULSAR has it and its new DTSFI is having a lot of first in India feature. Just read the features of DTSFI

First two wheeler in India to employ tubeless tyres for superior performance and safety

First vehicle in the class to employ the widest tyres

First vehicle in India to employ a hydraulically actuated 230 mm rear disc brake
    Enhances braking performance and control

First bike in India to employ a large 37 mm front fork for class leading vehicle dynamics

First…India to employ a non-contact digital speedo drive for accuracy, simplicity and long life

First…India to use a unique damping method for damping high frequency
vibrations in clip-on handlebars (patent applied for)

First…India to employ a pure sports riding position [don’t agree. Thought the bars could have been still lower and more sporty. Great position for fast touring, though]

First…India to incorporate a pinch clamp for front axle
Ensures smooth parallel fork sliding action for lower fork stiction
The usual method can force the legs to flex the tubes due to non-parallelism - high stiction

First…India to use a 3000 combination ignition cum steering lock with a twin-track pilfer proof key

First…world to employ backlit handlebar switches

First…India to employ non-contact handlebar switches for soft touch feel and zero maintenance

First…world to employ non-contact ‘intelligent’ self-cancelling turn signals

First…India to employ ‘black mask’ twin headlamps in a vertical stack configuration

First…India to employ a high wattage (H7, 55W) ellipsoidal projector lamp for white light low beam illumination

First…India to employ white light pilot lamp bulbs

First…India to employ a large free form orange backlit LCD speedo panel, displaying among other things the vehicle speed [accurate to within 2 kph], odometer, 2 tripmeters, graphic fuel level indicator and other information icons [diagnostics: air filter choked, oil temperature, battery voltage and oil level]

First…India to employ a stepper motor driven tachometer needle for quick undamped response

First…India to incorporate a flashing over-rev warning light in the speedo console

First…India to have an electronic speedo console which when keyed on goes through a self-diagnostic check

First…India which incorporates a flashing warning light for low fuel level

First…India to incorporate a day-night mode for the speedo console. In day mode, the indicating lights are brighter for clear visibility in ambient sunlight. In night mode, these lights reduce their brightness to prevent glare

First…India to employ a battery-saving function to automatically switch off headlamps while cranking

First…India to employ a battery-saving function to automaticallyregulates the number of continuous cranks

First…India equipped with a high-capacity O ring chain for final drive - smooth operation and long life in harsh operating conditions

First…India employing elliptical section swingarm on needle roller pivot bearings

First…India to incorporate sculpted, compact, fairing mounted rear view mirrors

First…India with sporty, sculpted two-piece grab rail for sleek big bike looks

First…India with a split seat design for easy access to tool kit and first-aid kit

First…India to sport ‘twin slash’ high intensity LED clear lens tail lamp, requiring zero maintenance

First…India to sport and aggressive and stylish anti-scratch tank pad to prevent damage to petrol tank paintwork due to zippers
    Dimensions

    & many more…………………………..

CBZ Xtreme will be washed away by the extreme features and power of PULSAR DTSFI…………… After all females dont take panga with male…
    :-D

    PULSAR (Definitely Male)

  101. big V Says:

man this bike realy looks like the mashed up version of ambition and apache….the radius of rear wheel os seriously small……..and does any1 kno wats engine capacity and bhp……..??????

  102. Rohan Bibbhudutta routray Says:

I THINK CBZ XTREME IS THE 2nd VERSION OF APACHE.
IT CANT BEAT PULSAR DTSFI BCOZ IT LOOKS REALLY AWESOME
I THINK HERO HONDA SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON MAKING BIKES
WHICH COULD GIVE GOOD MILEAGE TO CUSTOMERS.IF HRRO HONDA
WANTS TO JOIN TH GROUP OF BAJAJ ,THEY SHOULD MAKE BIKES BY
GETTING INSPIRATION FROM HONDAS.IF THEY DO SO THEN I AM DAMN
SURE ABOUT THE SUCCESS OF HERO HONDAS.

  103. vivek Says:

THE looks of the bike is completely bogus. May be hero honda is not aware that most of the ppl were mad about the beauty of older cbz and star version, even they didn’t care about the milage still they bought it. But now with CBZ xtreme hero honda has ruined the beauty and crashed their CBZ’s Repo. May be bike is good, but not having TPFC like features which made it different from other 150cc bikes, it should be better named as AMBITION XTREME Or ACHIEVER XTREME, my advice for HH is that they should not make any idiotic changes in its beauty. they should launch it again as older looks, with some new features like mag wheels, FI, digital speedo mtr and tacho mtr, self start , and an enhanced engine to give good milage, YE BIKE HERO HONDA KO DEFINATELY LE DUBEGI. PLZ other wise change its name. and re-launch older cbz.Well i’m the most DISAPPOINTED CBZ FAN.

  104. Rohan bbsr wala 9861341543 Says:

are orissa loke kie kauthi acha chala misiki a hero honda bala ku

  105. santhosh Says:

what the stupid bike u manufactor

  106. JudeVibin Says:

I knew that Hero Honda will blast one day……All the best to the new cbz xtreme…….It will be the sexiest bike ever, now on the road…….

    “NOTHING CAN STOP,IF THEY STARTS“

  107. NR Thippeswamy Says:

come on man i was waiting for so long to see the bike but it dissapoints me nothiing new in it
just look at the break lite its horrible compaired to old cbz (old one such a good bike)
    Plz replace ur engginears

  108. nalin dubey Says:

this is a good upgrade to the cbz and is certainly a good bike too. but i swear in the name of god that i have never seen a bike which is so daring,so frugal,so innovative and so remarkable as the HONDA UNICORN.

  109. pradeep Says:

Hi this is pradeep from bangalore and i am very disappointed today by seeing the new cbz xtreme bcoz it has no stylish and sporty look which it ha before but now its just a copy of other bikes like ambition and apache this is too bad and i am not happy about the new upadation of cbz i like to see it in the same old body kit but with some advancement and new bore and stroke so that the result will take it to nearly 250 cc and 22 bhp so that we can have ultimate thunder machine.and with addition a big rear tyre of 120/90/”18″ mag and in front 3.5/90/”18″ mag wheel and all new technology for open exhaust.

    thanking you all

    pradeep.r frm bangalore

  110. akki Says:

this is a good upgrade to the cbz and is certainly a good bike too. knew that Hero Honda will blast one day……All the best to the new cbz xtreme…….It will be the sexiest bike ever, now on the roadI THINK CBZ XTREME IS THE 2nd VERSION OF APACHE.
IT CANT BEAT PULSAR DTSFI BCOZ IT LOOKS REALLY AWESOME

  111. somoo Says:

this dumb bike cant be labelled such jus for market,
the pilot ,the rear views , the crome notch on the side fend , the short wheel base , wind shield are all POOPISH .
    no this wasnt I wanted

  112. ARYAN Says:

    Simply Awesome Man!!!

What u want in a bike?
Power, style, looks, speed, comfort etc.

So man your search is finished. Just go now to Hero Honda showroom and book your dream machine i:e CBZ XTREME…

I had taken the test ride of it. Its simply superb. The only problem is that they should make it a little higher.

  113. jak Says:

    once again a stupid bike

  114. Sathish Kumar Says:

I think HH people were and are in love with Ambition. That’s why they launched a 150cc bike Achiver that was a sibling of Ambition and now again they have did the same with CBZZZZ - XXXtreme. This people have only retained the name of the legend for this cute little baby. And I am sure that some one from TVS have put his hand in this rubbish design that’s why is also looks like a sibling of Apache.

  115. upal and sushil Says:

common u hav to think something new and better than this . This exterme which u r calling the new CBZ Extreme is not enough to call as a bike ratther call it as cycle . And sorry to say it is not so good also to compare with PULSAR ….. so better think something really nice that can catch the heart of young generations and one more thing “add pe kharcha karne se kuch nahi hoga bike par kharcha karo“
We think this nothing an wastage of time n money so we dont call it as Extreme we will call it as YAKKKKKKKK

  116. swapnil Says:

it a marbles bike for riding.

  117. Richie Rich Says:

Whatever !!!!!!! HH, get some creative guys on ur top mngmt board…. do something new boys. I know bikes for Masses sell….. but think of the Yamaha Rx 100…… the Suzuki Shogun………. The RD350……. The old CBZ…… The old Pulsar……….. All the above names did something new some point in time….. can’t say anything more!

    Cheers!

  118. sarvaraya chowdary Says:

i think CBZ is the best bike with good look.i think hero honda have to lauch the bike like cbz wth same design by making few adjustments

  119. sarvaraya chowdary Says:

i think extreme is not tht good

  120. Jayanth Says:

THIZ ISZ VERY VERY MIND BLOWING ITZ GOOD & BAD

  121. priyank Says:

Guys! wait for Yamaha 250cc Fazer ! im happy with my enfield .

  122. mark_presencce Says:

if we compare cbz extreme with pulsar 150 and Apache. out of all these CBZ Xteme surely is best looking, best priced, best marketed and will surely come with best reliiability, which pulsar lacks. after all Hero honda is most reputed bike manufacturer in india. Lets see what future holds for CBZ. For the time being i am getting cbz extreme BOOKED. MARK YOUR PRESENCE ON ROAD WITH IT. Kudos to HH.

  123. SURAJ Says:

    BAJAJ BEWARE HERO HONDA COMES

  124. Vaishakh Says:

it is the most wonderful bike with disc break & the back alloy wheels are so superb!!no bike could beat this!!!!!!!

  125. RAVI Says:

It seeems that some people from BAJAJ are writing thse notes. Evverything should be fair.fair views should be welcomed.

NO PURCHASING DECISION SHOULD BE MADE UNLESS U URSELF TRY THE BIKE AND SEE THE BIKE IN FLESH AT THE SHOWROOM.

At first look it is awesome.

  126. KUMAR Says:

    IS not it cute
    Really minblowing.
Hero honda this time u r right
    CBZ IS MY PASSION.
    CHEERS.

  127. SUDHIR Says:

AWESOME. THIS IS WHAT I WAITED FOR.
I WILL BUY BLAACK BEASTY XTREME. WHAT IS YOUR PICK.

  128. Rajendra Sagar Says:

I think some real insane person can only praise the new CBZ.
Well, the sales will itself tell the true story on how many people actually liked it.

  129. Ritesh Says:

YA ITS GIVES MILEAGE AROUND 50 TO 55 KMS, ITS SUCH A ONE OF THE BEST BIKE IN ITS RANGE LIKE BAJAJ’S PULSER AND TVS’S APACHE. AS MY OPENION HEROHONDA’S CBZ EXTREME IS THE BEST ONE OUT OF THIS. IT ALSO HAVE GOOD COLOR COMBINATION AND LOOK TOO. SO DON’T WAIT JUST BUY , RIDE AND ENJOY INDI
