While driving fast, do not end up doing a Laura ;)
So, we went on a trip to Bhilwara last week. Pretty cool. I drove close to 1000 kilometers within a span of 30 hours. Awesome. Car is rattling like hell. Not so cool.
However, the most umm incredible moment came while we were on the way to Bhilwara driving on the Delhi Jaipur highway at around 100 KMpH.
Since it was way past midnight, I thought we would be the fastest vehicle on the road and I would just have to worry about the traffic coming in front of us.
However, it was not to be. A car was flashing its dipper on me from the back eager to get ahead. The way it looked it thought we had a Honda Accord trying to overtake us.
I gave that car the space to let through and it zoomed past me in a flash. And considering I was still driving above 100 KMpH… It was exciting to see that Skoda driving past me at that pace.
It was not to be. Another Skoda… this time an Octavia came and drove past at a similar pace. Looked like those two cars belonged to the same family and were apparently racing with each other!
It was fun. But well. It was not.
Just around a couple of kilometers ahead, we saw the Laura standing still on the right side of the road just besides a cut on the highway. The Octavia guys stopped too on the left side to see what had happened.
And bang. The Laura had apparently hit a truck which was I believe taking a U-turn or driving on the wrong side of the road. There was this V shape dent in the front but the rest of the car was undamaged showing how solid the built of the car is.
The car had no number plates. This tells me that those guys had purchased the car in Gurgaon from the Skoda dealership near my place and were driving back to their homes.
We thought about stopping there to take some photos. However, that would have been pretty stupid.
Hopefully the people in the car was OK coz the car otherwise looked pretty much all right. It was pretty dark so I could not see the interiors. I cannot even remember seeing the airbags blown up in the car.
Well, that incident made me drove safely all the way to the Bhilwara and back.
My suggestion to you guys. While driving fast, do not end up doing a Laura.
I got a verb to warn people.
