Starting to hate ICICI Bank

I have had so many bad experiences with this Bank in the last month itself that all my good experiences of last 5 years are no longer relevant…

They had made it totally impossible to open a savings account in the bank. They rejected my credit card application without giving a specific reason, as it’s their company policy to not reveal the reason of rejection. The DMAT services are totally crawling at the height of trading session. The Gurgaon branch is always so crowded that you wound find your typical sabzi mandi more accessible. And they hate small companies wanting to open a current account in the company. I have received so many complaints about their services related to NRI accounts from people totally disappointed with the company.

Time to check out my alternative options.

Why I hate ICICI bank:
•When I try to change my address on money2india, they do not accept my Canadian postal code. So my address is not updated, which causes a whole lot of problems.
•When I try to log in on ICICIbank.com for my account access, my userid is disabled. It is disabled because my password has expired and the only way they will reset the password is to send me a new password to my home address, which is NOT UPDATED!!
•When I send documentation to prove my current address, I get a rejection letter saying that drivers license is not a valid proof of address!!
•On top of all this, when I went to the branch in India, they gave me incorrect information to sign me up for an insurance scheme. I take the blame for this as I should have read the fine print but I have email exchange between me and the bank manager where she specifically confirms the incorrect information she gave me.
•Their phone system is a joke. Selecting the wrong option kicks you out of the system. I also get a busy signal when I call the toll free NA number

It is an amazingly badly managed bank. First there is corruption, second the executives are over incentivised to MIS-SELL. Every time i feel like taking a gun to the bank to collect my OWN money. Gone are the days that you got looted by a man with a gun. Man with a Icici prudential ULIP form can loot you more. It took the bank NINE days to credit my cheque to my credit card account. They charged me late payment charges. I screamed and got it reversed. Then coolly they charged me some 42% interest for 8 days!! I thought reversal of late payment charges was the end of the transaction. This bank stinks man! MIS-SELLING is their main moto. I had one account, their demat dept and icici direct people told me i needed a new account to 'deal' with them, so i opened another one. I MADE an excel sheet of their recommendations. I would have lost a million rupees if I had put in Rs. 50Lakhs. Wov! Watta bank!! RBI should shut it down before it becomes tooooooo big to fail.

Horrible service.Scam Bank.They can kiss your money anytime.They can make your account frozen without any notice.Their staffs will eat away your money

Idiotic bank. Highest homeloan rates, least purchasing power using ATM debit cards, very bad customer service at branch, online and telephone. What more reasons do u need from a falling bank to close your account...

The most arrogant banking people.. i had horrible experience.. no one takes at all responsibility even if its there mistake..
i don't want to share any personal experience they are endless but then a wise advise
close your accounts with icici as early as possible.

ICICI is the worst bank I ever seen........ Since last 20 days I am asking for a refund which I have paid extra for closing of my home loan...........No body is properly ersponding and taking care of that. One lady Prachi Mohite seems to be a senior position in that.............respond like a novice employee..........making wrong commitments without knowing the case, and now since 2 days not facing me on phone.

ICICI Bank has amazing tech back up and the worse human interaction possible in Indian Banking History.

When their technology fails, everything fails.

I have had numerous experiences, some so shitty that if it were any other nation, they would have been on the national news channels everyday!!

Someday I will take a survey of all those customers who walk out of a ICICI Bank branch.... and publish the results.

They can cry their Hum Hai Na to the dogs then!!!

A few years ago,I was proud that I had opened an account with a bank that was at its prime.I just finished by graduation and was a student then.These people have no mercy and cut 800+ rs. everytime a balance of 5000 is not maintained!! And a 25 rs deduction for every ATM withdrawal..what do they need the money for?? I cant believe they would cut such a high amount for not maintaining the balance.

Then there was the case of signature verification to this person I know of,and they wanted to charge the person for verifying his signature,that too for their own satisfaction.If they want to satisfy themselves,why charge the customer? Downright ridiculous.

I had applied for the Home Loan 5-6 Months back.Details is as follows:

i. I had applied through Mr.S.Bhowmick Franchise Coe is THS/DEL-2/FBD.My experience with this person says This person is very unproffessional.
ii. I had given all the documents by June-2007 to this person.But after that i did not receive even a single call from this person.
iii. After several phone calls & personal meeting he has filed the case & we got our sanctioned letter on Aug.15 2007.Application no. is 777-7266402 & Loan id is LB/FDB/00001586280.
iv. After receving this letter again time for a long waiting because he always says Technival verification will be tommorrow & that tommorow was not coming till september-2007.Then i met to Ms.Mukta Kalra who was my Relationship officer but she said :I do not aware about your case you should meet to Mr.Bhowmick"
v. I filed a complaint regarding the same vide complaint no.SR/37809053.
vi. After this complaint i received only a single call from Ms Mukta Kalra She said " I arrange the person who will make technical verification" but she did not tell why all this happening delay.
vii.This was my good luck finally technical Verification is made & this department did not make any valuation for our property which we want to purchase.
viii. Then Ms.Mukta Kalra says Your case has gone for approval & i will give you the detail in two days.But these two days never come.
ix. Then after making lots of calls she finally says you talk to Mr.Asim who is Sales Manager.I spoke to this person but he was as busy as no body can.He says :Call Me after 4 Days" okay i made a call after 4 days he says we did not get any reply of the mail which i sent for approval your case.My question is WHY DID NOT SEND THE REPLY?
X. i finally fed up from ICICI Bank & said to Mr.Asim that please return my file & he says go to Ms Mukta Kalra & take back your file.
xi I wnet to Ms Mukta Kalra she says we had sent this file to Mumbai Branch & cant give you this file.
Now waht i want to say that 1.why this case is delayed because of the stupid staff of ICICI bank? If you do not approve the case then you should give the letter to your customer with reason as the order by court but i did nnot receive that letter till date.

Your people just believe in excuses like you.I expect nothing from this mail because i known about you ,about customer care,about ICICI bank.

Now i am looking for the address of the madam who had founded this bank & give the detail of this genuine case to her .

you are absolutely right ... its the most horrible bank . But beware of your money . These people steal. the other day i lost 16000 out of my savings account . My account is frozen . I have absolutely no clue whats happened and nobody seems to be giving me an explaination. And one of the managers has the nerve to tell me that it could be a crdit card payment taken out without your permission ...

i have worked for icici call centre-and let me tell you working for hitler and nazis would be a better option!
highly stessful job,peanut incentives,excessive workload and unfriendly people
they recruit innocent people who think(at the time of joining only) that they are lucky! little do they know that they are bonded labourers for a year -10,000rs is taken -incase you are not able to comple 1 yr then.....mind you 10,000 rs gone!
in a day we took 150-200 calls phew!
with more and more people leaving icici each day the work pressure increases resulting in doing extra time sonetimes...
with unachievable targets loaded on our poor backs...icici call centre employees face acute health problems..almost go mad...shout and fight with parents and friends..life is hell...
we say HUM HAI NA! but deep in the hearts we know Humare liye koi nahi hai!
so....be aware before you join this call centre or open an a/c here...
So dont blame those poor chaps now....they are just doing the needful..behind them are thoswe BigDevils who have tied the knots of excessive workloads with 80-100 Que Calls waiting...the poor slave tend to talk harshly ....and d/c the calls sometimes
so take it easy chaps...dont blame these scapegoats.....blame the BigDevil..the creator of this nuisance...

I totally agree. You place a call and wade through the call centre (horrible experience), you get through after a while...chap tells you - I dialled the wrong number so dial again and sit in the queue.

You try to get hold of some one responsible for specific answer (not generic), they promise to return the call, what happens- nothing. You hardly ever get useful info from any of their call centre people. If you are lucky then this is because they are doing you a favour (well, you should have known about this, shouldn't you?).

If they do give you information, this is often in the most patronising way - as if 'get some grey matter, you do not know what are you missing'.

There must be some thing good about ICICI. Well, I do not know of any products they offer that other banks do not offer better.

I feeling is that this bank is getting arrogant by the day. This reflects intheir staff's attitude. They expanded quicker than they thought possible. They are beginning to alienate their customers now. I for one am beginning to look for alternatives.

ohh man ICICI contact centers are horrible...

dmat? do they offer online share trading? do they offer customer care which works? do they work from 8 am to 8 pm?

Sarkari bank is your option!

How about State Bank of India?
