Google Talk
Why cannot everyone I know online just start using Google Talk to make my online life a bit easier?

Few things make me as excited as a new product launch from Google. Today, a new chapter in instant
2 Nice places to check out if you are a heavy user of Google Talk! http://www.gtalkr.com/ http://www.customizetalk.com/
It so happened last night that Google went down big time for like two hours. And I missed it all!
We have heard about a possible Google Browser or a GBrowser. However, it seems like Google Opera just might happen.

yeah? and what happens when you attach a webcam and want to use it along with ur IM software? Yahoo! allows you that.
Oh… and Yahoo! lets you check out ur portfolio in the stock tab, and it includes the Indian stock market, unlike Google.
Oh… it also lets me sign into my mobile phone when I log off YM.
And then there is conferencing…
However much I like Google Talk, I find it to get rid of YM even after I have my friends on Google. There’s still a long way to go before I can ditch YM, and till then it continues to guzzle up memory like crazy

i think i was talking about a fully functional instant messenger that comes loaded with an awesome voice client and still is just 900K big… and the response time of this application is just awesome. yahoo crawls. totally crawls on my system with 1 gig ram. wont’ keep my history at a single place. won’t make the history available for search (that too online). has zillions of super useless features which makes chatting annoying. has chat rooms which have like 99% users who are bots. has been sued for apparently helping companies to advertise using bots on these chat rooms.
i dont like either yahoo! or msn as a chat client. i just need a simple instant messenger which works well and talk does.

yep… even I love Google Talk
I was just pointing out that I kind of expect a lot more from my IM client instead of just IM+voice… YM having spoilt me unfortunately before Google Talk was available. And now I find it difficult to ditch YM totally, even though I hate the fact that its a memory hog and slow and all that you pointed out.
